The stage is set for game 1 of the finals next Thursday.

Zach Sawyer’s Shooters vs John Bohrer’s Big Dek Swingers 🏆

Both captains led their squads to decisive victories last night.

Big Dek dismantled the Renegades in a 5-1 thrashing.

Shooters gave the Hammers a plow job, shutting them out in a 6-0 stroll in the park.

2 red hot teams will battle for the Sailor’s Cup.

Semifinals game 2 is TONIGHT.

Will the Hammers and Renegades get sent packing??

Last week, the Shooters pounded the Hammers 6-2, while Big Dek Swingers handled the Renegades in a 4-2 win.

Let’s see if they can tie up their respective series, or make the long lonely ride home from the rink.

PLAYOFF SEASON 🏒

After a captivating regular season, full of beers, hot dogs and domination by Big Deks, tonight we advance to the playoffs.

Round 1 is comprised of single-game eliminators, with Big Dek Swingers (1) and Shooters (2) enjoying byes.

Tonight:

8p - Pig Missiles (4) vs Renegades (5)
9p - Hammers (3) vs Dump n Chase (6)

Word on the street is many of you thought we were joking about hot dog night at the dek. Well let me tell you…the wieners were flying…and so were the balls! 🟠🟠
Not to worry, some balls were in bushes but we all came…and got them.

Good action on the dek on a beautiful Thursday night. First up were the Hammers vs Shooters. Captain Zach and the Shooters controlled the game the whole night, with the Cap popping 4 goals and a helper, leading his squad to a 7-3 victory.

Next up was a challenge for last place in the league - Renegades vs Dump N Chase. It was a close, s**tty game, with Dump N Chase continuing to do more dumping, losing 2-1. With that, they have a solid hold on last place with a 0-5 record.

The final game was an exciting match between Big Dek Swingers and the namesake for the night, the Pig Missiles. It was a close game, and regulation ended in a 3-3 tie. Big Dek captain John Bohrer had his hand on all goals, scoring 2 and assisting 1.

In overtime, it was game night hero Mike Codianni who found the back of the net, giving Big Dek the OT win and a tie for first place in the league.

Week 3 played out last week, on a wet, slippery, sloppy night.
Big Dek Swingers played without their captain, John Bohrer, who is sidelined with an injury for a few weeks. They faced the Hammers in a close battle which ended up going to OT. Big Hammer Mike Bailey sealed the win with the golden goal, giving his squad their second win of the season.
Zach Sawyer's Shooters faced Scott Young's Dump N Chase. The Dump are still trying to figure s**t out, and in the meantime the Shooters rolled them 8-4. Dump owns the basement of the league with their 0-3 record.
Last up were the Renegades and Pig Missiles. Captain Brett Starr peppered the scoresheet, thrusting his pig missiles into the W column once again with a 7-3 victory.

*NOTE* the youth tournament responsible for our upcoming 2-week hiatus has been postponed. Our games are back on this Thursday and next.

Week 2 action wrapped up last night, with all 6 teams seeing action.

The Pig Missiles and Hammers kicked off the festivities. The game started close, with Hammer cap Mike Bailey scoring 2 quick goals and the Pigs answering back. Captain Mike was forced to leave the game during the second, and then things got out of hand. Brett’s Pig Missiles buried the Hammers 8-3.

Next up was Dump n Chase vs the Renegades. Captain Mike Garofolo refused to let his team start the season 0-2, he put the team on his back and took the win 5-3. Dump n Chase had plenty of chances but couldn’t find the back of the net.

Last up were the Shooters and Big Dek Swingers. Big Dek jumped out to an early lead and maintained it throughout the game. With nothing to lose and down 5-2, Shooter captain Zach Sawyer pulled his goalie with about 3 minutes left. The gamble looked like it was paying off, as the Shooters scored 2 in the dying minutes. Big Dek captain John Bohrer nailed the coffin late and ended the game 6-4. Those big deks are swingin out there, on top of the standings at 2-0.

A glorious opening night at the dek last night, it was a party with all 6 teams seeing action.

Game 1 kicked off with defending champ Zach Sawyer’s Shooters facing off against arch rival and pretty-boy Brett Starr, and his Pig Missiles. It was a hard battle, but this one was brains over beauty. Zach led his squad to a 5-4 victory.

Game 2 was another electric matchup, with John Bohrer’s Big Dek Swingers vs Mike Garofolo’s Renegades. The dek Renegades kinda look like this season’s men’s ice Renegades. They got thrashed by some Big Deks 4-1. It’s early though, keep your heads up Renegades…

In the final matchup of the night, Mike Bailey’s Hammers faced off against Scott Young’s Dump N Chase. Dump did what they could, peppering goalie Vince Gallagher all night, but 2 late goals by Hammer Captain Mike sealed the deal and a 5-3 victory.

Right back at it next Thursday on the Dek, good luck to all warriors 🦾
