Hi Facebook friends! I’m excited to be finishing up yoga teacher training! I will be adding private yoga training to my menu of services! Yoga is a very technical practice. I feel it’s very important to make the asanas(poses) work for each individual’s body. I am still offering my personal training services specializing in fall prevention and balance training, as well as individuals with health issues, such as, heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, joint issues exetera. Hello everyone! Did you know that 27,000 people die from falls each year! Risk factors for falls is:
1)previous fall
2)impaired balance
3) loss of muscle strength
Good news is we can work on number 2 and 3 to prevent 1! If you are unable to stand on one leg for five seconds, you are at higher risk for fall. Excellent info! Keep resistance training! I love working with seniors! You can gain strength at any age! Strong muscles equal less likely chance to fall,which can be devastating, particularly if the fall results in Brocken bones(hip for example). Move it or loose it...at ANY age! I have a 95 year old client who can now stand from sitting without using his hands or arms of the chair after working on his strength! You CAN get stronger at any age!!
