Come to this great CRDA clinic taking place at Cutler Farm!
Want to learn more about what’s involved in Scribing at shows?
Or maybe you just need a break from the winter blues?
Learn to Scribe!
An Unmounted Clinic with Patty Montana
(FREE for Members!)
CRDA welcomes Patty Montana (“L”) judge for an unmounted clinic on scribing. Scribing can be an excellent way to further your understanding of showing, granting additional insight into the judge’s perspective, but it can also be a daunting task for someone new to it. In this clinic we will review commonly used and acceptable shorthand and conventions, rules and guidelines for scribes, and common pitfalls that can pose a challenge to scribes.
In addition to Patty, we will have a few scribes who have worked both at CRDA shows and other recognized events to offer their perspective on scribing, along with one of CRDA’s regular scorers to discuss how the scoring process works and some of the errors that are seen with tests in the office. This clinic will also offer “hands on” work, as Patty will judge videos of some actual tests while we practice our scribing.
We will be having a potluck lunch (please bring a dish!) at the beginning to allow folks to get some food and catch up with one another, sharing war stories of this harrowing winter we’ve had. Please also bring a clipboard (or something else hard to write on) and a blue/black pen and a red pen.
So if you have ever wanted to scribe or you just want to brush up on your skills, come join us and learn the ins and outs and get some experience scribing outside of the judge’s booth!
