Great wrap up to a season that is not actually done yet for everyone. Zane and Kiley have qualified for the NYS meet both with great seeds going into the meet. Jacob, Zane and Kiley qualifying for the adidas national championship in North Carolina. Congratulations to all of the athletes signing their letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at the next level. And congratulations to everyone on Mechanicville track for a great season. The banquet was held Friday where we gave out our annual awards. Preston and Paige were given the Leadership and sportsmanship awards for the intangibles they show on the team, throughout the season but especially throughout their careers. Ethan and Aliyah as the best newcomers on the team who made immediate impacts in some of the hardest and high pressured races. Jacob and Rylee as the most improved on the team through their hard work and determination. Zane and Kiley as field athletes of the year for their incredible performances, school records and qualifiers to the NYS championship and Nationals. And Jacob and Essence as track athletes of the year for what they did on the oval. Running school record times, putting on some of the biggest performances at post season time and being flexible to be in any race asked of them. Thank you to the seniors for a great career and what you did for the program. You left a footprint that put the program in a better place than you found it. 2 more weeks of outdoor track officially left and good luck to the athletes still competing
