🧡🖤 Summer Spotlight: Charlee “Chachi” Byrd 🖤🧡
We’re kicking off our Summer Spotlight series with Chachi Byrd, whose progress over the last two years has been incredible to watch.
Starting as a C Standard swimmer, Chachi has worked her way to earning AAA times and recently qualified for her first Eastern Zone Championship Meet. While the time drops and accomplishments are impressive, what stands out most is the way she embraces everything that comes with being part of the team.
For Chachi, one of the best parts of being a Hurricane has been “meeting so many kind people along the way.” The friendships, team environment, and support system have all played a role in her journey. When asked what has helped her improve the most, she didn’t talk about a specific set or race. Instead, she pointed to Coach Max, saying that he truly cares about his swimmers and has been a major factor in her growth over the last few years.
If Chachi were bringing a friend to join Hanover Aquatics, she’d tell them exactly what she loves about the team: it’s fun, the meets are amazing, and you’ll make some great friends along the way. That combination of hard work, great coaching, and strong friendships is what makes Hanover Aquatics such a special place to grow as both a swimmer and a person.
From C Standards to AAA times and Eastern Zones in just two years, Chachi’s story is a great reminder of what’s possible when you trust the process and enjoy the journey.
