πͺοΈ Meet Coach Chris! πͺοΈ
Weβre excited to welcome Coach Chris to the Hanover Aquatics coaching staff! Chris will serve as our Senior Assistant Coach, working primarily with our senior athletes during afternoon practices while also spending time with other groups on deck.
Coach Chris brings an incredible 18 years of competitive coaching experience, working with athletes ranging from novice swimmers to Olympic Trials qualifiers. Throughout his career, he has helped develop State and YMCA National Champions and record holders, Junior and Senior National qualifiers, National Junior Team members, a U.S. National Team member, and Olympic Trials qualifiers. He was also the developmental coach of Olympic Gold Medalist and World Record Holder Zach Apple.
Chris has held numerous leadership roles in the sport, including Head Age Group Coach, Head Coach, Associate Head Coach, and Assistant Director of Competitive Swimming with YOTA. Most recently in the Richmond area, he served as Associate Head Coach with SwimRVA.

π¨βπ³ Fun fact: He also has a degree in Hospitality Management/Culinary Arts and is a classically trained chef!
Outside the pool, Chris is an avid reader, loves coding and building sports prediction models, camping, golf, BBQ, and spending time with his wife and three children. He and his wife are also huge Dave Matthews Band fans β with 39 shows under their belts!
Coach Chris believes every athlete is unique and that great coaching means adapting as athletes grow, while working in partnership with them to help them reach their goals.
