The trip was fantastic, but the weather was cold & raining. After several days of riding in cold wet weather we purchased, and fell in love with, an amazing pair of socks. Upon our return home, we started the process of crafting those socks into the world’s greatest cold weather cycling sock – Original Pearly’s. Pearly’s are carefully made on the north island of New Zealand. The yarn is weaved to
integrate 45% fine Merino wool, 40% Brushtail Possum fur, and a splash of lycra. The possum fur makes them soft and warm like no sock you have ever worn before. Since our 2011 trip, we have introduced two additional styles of Pearly’s. Now, we offer the Original, the Moto and the Road Pearly. The Moto Pearly evolved from Duke’s love of riding his KTM year round. In January 2015 we made a trip to New Zealand to design the ultimate moto sock; knee high, super warm, super durable, we wanted the perfect sock. Duke loves riding in them and we hope you will too. The folks at Bicycling magazine just loved their secret socks and they ran a great article about them. Recently Robb Mesecher from RBA pronounced them 2016 Product of the Year. With overwhelmingly great feedback, we dramatically increased production and the Road Pearly was born. Road Pearly’s are black in color, 3” taller than Original Pearly’s and are the warmest, most comfortable sock you have ever slipped into your carbon road shoes. Pearly’s stay warm, comfortable, and without much odor, even if conditions demand you wear them for several days in a row. You should wear Pearly’s often!
