Classic BMX - π A story worth sharing π
I received a FB message from a gentleman by the name of Craig Goad this morning. Craig lives in Illinois and has been a supporter of my BMX business. He always has something positive to say about a bike or a project that I am working on.
Craig found his childhood bike located in Smithville, TN. Thirty minutes from me, over 8 hours from him. He asked if I would be willing to pick the bike up, fix it or restore it, and eventually ship it to him. I was happy to meet his requests.
I contacted the seller ( super nice guy ) and purchased the bike via Venmo. I even got him a little better deal than advertised. Bike bought and a very cool project will be underway soon!
But all that isn't the good part. During the phone conversation I had with Craig, I explained my busy schedule and how it may take some time to complete the project. I also mentioned that my aunt is very sick right now, battling cancer and is under hospice care. I am spending more time with her and I am uncertain of what may happen. Craig told me to take my time and there was no rush.
I don't know this man. He doesn't know me. He doesn't know my aunt. Even still, he told me he would go inside his church sanctuary after our phone call ended and pray for her. And he did.
What started out as a bike business deal turned into an act of kindness and compassion. Craig has set an example for me. Perhaps to everyone else that reads this.
Thank you Craig ππ»
