Classes focus on general fitness and practical self defense for adults and mature youth. Typical classes begin with deep breathing and relaxation, joint conditioning and dynamic stretching. Then technical development of movement, defenses, striking, kicking, grappling and basic stick work. Training includes heavy bag work, partner drills, uprights sparring, grappling and stick sparring. The last 2
0-30 minutes are calisthenics and deep stretching, ending with another brief session of deep breathing and relaxation. Our goal is to help you maintain or improve your strength, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance while learning basic skills that might save your life in an emergency. Our philosophical focus is on the value and dignity of every human life. We do not require uniforms, nor do we use a belt ranking system. We all test (together) at the end of every three-month term.
