Finally after 5 years got my bear skull back. Let this be a lesson when choosing the right people for taxidermy. Now I’m on the hunt for the rug . The company I was dealing with were a bunch of crooks. Then the crooks sold the business to a good man who gave me back my skull but didn’t have the hide. Now I have to go back to the crooks to see if they will give me my hide . Verify your taxidermist make sure they have a good reputation and more importantly make sure they have a license to practice taxidermy. Lesson learned.

This is a buck I passed on last year. He’s gotten much bigger. Big blacktails are special there’s not another deer like them . In this area there is one that is bigger and that’s the buck I’m after. Scouting and the use of trail cameras is everything if you want to have consistent success

Thirty yards in the backyard. Bow season is a month out and I’m there . If you’re headed east lots of fires right now especially in mt Emily. I’m really hoping this is the year I finally get it done.

Had a great morning on the sandy big Mike and I both hooked three and landed one. All native chinooks that were in excellent shape. We didn’t see any steelhead as you can see by the numbers it hasn’t been a great year. It was really nice to get out of the boat and just be a river rat .

A plate full of hex hurricanes is just what the guru ordered for serious summer steelhead. These are going to big Mike and I have no doubt they will be putting steel in the bag .

Bow season is just about here and I’m almost ready. 35 yards with my recurve in the backyard trying to make apple sauce. The neighbors love me this time of year I serenade them with elk calling
