In today’s NCS World Series matchup, Grayson Jacko and his 9U Lightning Elite squad found themselves in an early 5–0 hole against the Keller Falcons. The Lightning kept battling, and by the bottom of the 3rd the Falcons were hanging onto a 6–5 lead. With the bases loaded, Grayson stepped in and delivered the moment of the game a clutch 3‑RBI triple that flipped the score and powered the Lightning to an 8–6 comeback win. Great swing, Grayson!

In Saturday’s tournament matchup against the Dallas Rockies, Aidan Boyd of Lojo 11U smoked a ball to the right side and never stopped running turning it into a 2‑RBI inside‑the‑park home run. Great hustle and a great swing, Aidan!

Amelia Saucedo and her Titans 18U 2027 teammates headed to OKC this weekend for the Top Club Invite Tournament, and Amelia delivered a standout performance. She went 8-for-14 with 2 home runs, a .571 average, and a 1.671 OPS. The highlight came against the Batbusters when OU Head Softball Coach Patty Gasso watched her at‑bat. Amelia battled and ripped a hard single into left field. Outstanding weekend, Amelia!

My favorite baseball movie Bull Durham turns 38 today!

⚾️🍿On June 15, 1988 “Bull Durham” was released in theaters! The film stars Kevin Costner as "Crash" Davis, a veteran catcher from the AAA Richmond Braves, brought in to teach rookie pitcher Ebby Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh (Tim Robbins) about the game in preparation for reaching the major leagues. Baseball groupie Annie Savoy (Susan Sarandon) romances Nuke but finds herself increasingly attracted to Crash. Also featured are Robert Wuhl, William O'Leary, Danny Gans, and Trey Wilson, as well as popular baseball "clown" Max Patkin. It is partly based upon the minor-league baseball experiences of writer/director Ron Shelton and depicts the players and fans of the Durham Bulls, a minor-league baseball team in Durham, North Carolina. Shelton also directed the films The Best of Times (1986), White Men Can't Jump (1992), Blue Chips (1994), Cobb (1994), Tin Cup (1996), and Play It to the Bone (1999).🍿⚾️

This summer, Amelia Saucedo is suiting up for the Titans 18U 2027 squad. Playing in the TC Texas State Championships this weekend, she delivered a huge swing in today’s pool game stepping up with the bases loaded and blasting a shot into right‑center for a grand slam, stretching the Titans’ lead to 8–0. Great swing, Amelia!

This week, Colby Cunningham and his 9U Missions Grey teammates are competing in the Five Tool Texas Youth DFW World Series. Colby was outstanding on the mound today, throwing 1.1 innings in relief with 3 strikeouts and zero walks. To top it off, he was awarded the POG Coin by the tournament director. Well done, Colby!

Last night, Josh DeBons and his mom, Kimberly, came by and gifted me an incredible photo ball, something I’ll truly treasure. Josh graduated this year and is on his way to the University of Arkansas to continue his studies.
We’ve been working together since July 2018, and watching his growth, his effort, and the young man he’s become has been one of the real joys of my coaching career. Thank you for the visit, and the thoughtful gift. Wishing you all the best as you take the next step at Arkansas, Josh.

Walnut Grove senior Josh DeBons ended his high school career the way a competitor should with a strikeout in a playoff battle against Midlothian Heritage. He left the game with the score tied 2–2, but MH edged out a 3–2 win in extra innings to end WG’s playoff run.
Josh capped off a fantastic senior season, finishing 9–3 with 77.1 innings pitched, 22 earned runs, 77 strikeouts, and only 13 walks/HBP. Congrats on an outstanding high school career, Josh.
