Found the last trophy I ever earned. 1987. T-ball. North Scottsdale Blue Jays, American League champions. I was six years old and it has been downhill ever since.

Then you turn on Williamsport and watch a 12-year-old snap a throw across the diamond like it’s nothing.

The kids are better at this. That’s the whole game.

School starts Thursday. Blake’s in 1st grade, Carson’s in early childhood, and their schools are 20 minutes apart with a 40-minute gap between bells. We leave at 7. Allegedly.

So I built a prediction game about it. 12 questions across two mornings. Does the cinnamon raisin bread make it out of the bag? Does Carson go full spaghetti at drop-off? Is Blake late to his own first day? Is the 6:57 bus on time? Do I cave on donuts?

I knew nothing about sumo on Monday. By next week I'll be insufferable about it.

The Nagoya Basho starts Sunday!

There’s a 21-year-old Ukrainian kid who lost the sport’s second-highest rank to an injury and can win it straight back in fifteen days. There’s a guy who wins eight or gets demoted, no pressure, only his grandfather was a legend. And there’s a wrestler who won the entire tournament in his first crack at the top division, then spent years injured. He’s back Sunday.

So I built a free prediction game around it. Eight picks a day, and every single one tells you who you’re backing and why. You don’t need to know a thing about sumo. That’s sort of the point.
