We have an amazing piece of Native American Indian Pottery from a nationally known Acoma Indian Potter. This piece of pottery is in our shop called The Shed in McCook.

Here is some information about the Potter. Gary "Yellow Corn" Louis is an award-winning Acoma Pueblo Native American Indian Potter known for his distinctive horsehair and hand-etched pottery.

Tribal Affiliation: Gary "Yellow Corn" Louis is a Member of the Yellow Corn Clan of the Acoma Pueblo in New Mexico.

Artistic Style: Gary "Yellow Corn" Specializes in horsehair pottery and sgraffito, which is hand-carving and etching intricate geometric patterns, animals, or traditional motifs into the clay.

Technique: He places strands of horsehair onto hot pottery right out of the kiln; the hair burns and leaves unique, smoky carbon stains on the surface, which are then carved and etched by hand.

Collaboration: Gary often works alongside his wife and fellow renowned potter, Corrine Louis.

This piece has a genuine turquoise stone placed into this pottery bowl. It measures 10 3/4" in diameter and it stands 5" in height.

There is a slight hairline crack on the backside and a small chip. That is why we only have this piece of pottery priced at $80. His pottery goes for much higher at the shows he has attended.

The Shed is located at 205 East 4th Street in McCook, Ne. We are open 11 to 5 Tuesday through Saturday.

We just received in The Shed a beautiful Six Drawer Chest of Drawers made by Aspen Home. It was hardly used in a Colorado home and the drawers are like new. It is a beauty.

It measures 38" in length, 18 1/2" in depth, and 52" in height.

We are asking $199.99, but that only a fourth of what it cost new.

It is in The Shed at 205 East 4th Street in McCook, NE.

GARAGE SALE - GARAGE SALE - GARAGE SALE!!!!!!

Susan is gearing up for another garage sale this Thursday and Friday, August 27th and 28th. It will be held at our home at 109 East N Street in McCook from 8:00 to 5:00.

We will have several nice beds with Box Springs and Mattresses that are very clean.

She will be working all day today getting it set up, so stop by and see that deals she will be offering.

We have in stock and very nice and comfortable small couch or sofa or love seat. It has a very nice neutral color that would fit many colors or styles.

It is great quality and I showed a picture of the actual box springs under the cushions. Lightly used from a very wonderful home, and well cared for.

It measures 70" in length, 40" deep, which is deep, and 40" to the top of the back cushions. It can fit in many places, covered porch, back porch, living room, family room, even large bedroom.
It is inside The Shed in McCook, Nebraska. Our address is 205 East 4th Street and we are open Tuesday through Saturday. New stuff arriving weekly. Come check us out.

We have for sale an amazing full bed that came from the 1950's and headboard, baseboard and railings are all natural wood.

It comes with a very clean mattress and box spring that was used very lightly in a guest bedroom.

This full bed is being sold by The Shed in McCook, NE, but we do not have room in our shop, so we have it stored in our garage at home.

It's been awhile since I've posted something personal. By now, most of our friends know that Susan and I were a bit crazy for opening a retail store so late in our journey. It's called The Shed in McCook. It's going good, but we are still not done with the project, as we continue to work on the outside.

We wanted you all to know that in our previous life, we were "Husker Groupies" and followed the Nebraska Cornhuskers faithfully. We still love the Huskers, and wish them a wonderful season. We can always "Hope" for another magical season, can't we? So, GO BIG RED!!!
