🚨 PUBLIC NOTICE – ACTIVE SHOOTER TRAINING EXERCISE 🚨

The Pike County Sheriff's Office would like to notify the public that today, at approximately 2:00 p.m., deputies, along with multiple law enforcement, fire, EMS, and emergency response agencies, will be conducting an Active Shooter Training Exercise at North Pike Middle School, located at 2034 Highway 44 East, Summit, Mississippi.

During this training, citizens may notice a significant presence of law enforcement vehicles, fire apparatus, ambulances, emergency personnel, and a helicopter in the area.

Please do not be alarmed. This is only a planned training exercise, and there is no active threat to the public.

The purpose of this exercise is to strengthen coordination among first responders and ensure that all agencies are prepared to respond quickly and effectively in the event of a real emergency.

Sheriff Bryant "Wally" Jones stated:
"We hope that we never have to use this training, but we need to be prepared if anything ever happens. Our number one priority is protecting our students, teachers, and communities. We are excited to partner with the North Pike School District and our fellow law enforcement and first responder agencies to make sure we are as prepared as possible."

We appreciate the public's understanding and cooperation as we conduct this important training.
