This morning, SW Gun Club held our annual Potluck Banquet inside our newly christened “Douglas MacArthur Bowser Memorial Clubhouse”. The clubhouse’s new moniker is in honor of the late Doug Bowser, who was our de facto leader for 50 years. We had a great turnout and enjoyed some wonderful dishes provided by our members and Vines 2.0 of McComb. We look forward to next years banquet and hope even more of our members will join us.

Recently, our page for the SW MS Gun Club has gained several new followers. This is, in part, thanks to a recent spotlight piece in the local Enterprise-Journal newspaper. I have had several comments asking why we do not update our page more regularly. The blunt answer is because of Facebook itself. Theirs is a decidedly anti-gun/2A position. As such, their unwritten rules about what is and isn't allowed on a page like ours make it difficult to know when a post will be flagged as a violation. In the past, penalties for violating their rules have included removal of pictures, deletion of posts, suspension of posting privileges for this page and/or the page of the admin who made the post, and even threats of page removal. This makes it difficult to use this page as we'd hoped. Match notifications seem to be the most affected post type to be flagged for violations. We use this page and will continue to use it to post our club schedule and any changes thereto, as well as notices of range closures and other important non-match/class-related information. For those who follow our page and would like to be kept in the loop about the goings-on at SW Gun Club, or who wish to receive match notifications, please PM me your email address, and I will add you to the appropriate email list.

Despite some rain and a smaller crowd than usual, we still had a great time at this year's Club Championship. Congrats to our finalists, and to all the members who came out to shoot with us today.

SW Gun Club will conduct a Women's Basic Home and Self-Defense Class on 8/30/2025. For more details, please review the flyer below or send a PM. For information on the cost of the class, please send a PM.

During the Summer Meeting of the SW Gun Club on August 2nd, and following discussion between the officers of the board and those members in attendance, a motion was made to uphold the previous decision of the board regarding the Sig P320 handgun. This decision will be revisited annually as more information regarding the controversy comes to light.

Due to safety concerns, SW Gun Club has decided to DISALLOW the use of the Sig P320 platform handgun on club property, at all times. This applies to all variations of the Sig P320, including but not limited to the standard P320, the X-Series, the M17 and M18, the AXG, Spectre, and MAX.
