Joby 22 Duck Call Update - 2026
12 Calls have already been sold, 4 more have been pre-ordered.
7-9 calls are in the finishing stage, and another 10-13 are planned. In other words, I am ahead of schedule with purchases compared to other years. As with every year, each edition has been limited, so if interested please do not wait until the last minute. I don't believe I will ever mass produce an edition, to keep the quality high, and the uniqueness viable.

The calls will be going to the retailers soon, most will be inventoried at the Reunion Bar & Grill in McClusky, ND, and some will be available at the Flyway 200 in McClusky.

The 4th anniversary (seems like the 10th) of the first Joby 22 Duck Call!
If you were fortunate to purchase the original call in 2022, it was inscribed "Joby 2022"...after which every call is now inscribed "Joby 22". I honestly NEVER envisioned selling close to 200 calls by now considering the extremely flooded nature of the duck call market. Last year I sold out of my entire original inventory. Each year it has been a limited edition. This is year will be limited as well, and have sold half of the inventory already. It has been a nice hobby, and it is also nice to know that Joby's name has been distributed across this great country and that buyers really like this call. My goal was to design and make a call I would personally use and have used, and that would be easy to blow for the novice hunter and sound as close to a hen mallard as possible.

Joby 22 - 2026 UPDATE - The Cheerful Giver Series
I will be trying a new wood, Yellowheart, this year. I have used it with turkey calls, beautiful wood.
Paduack, Rainbow Poplar, Purpleheart, and others will be used as well, similar to 2024's Cross Series.
Getting off to a SLOW start in production, weather has been miserable in ND so far this year.
Production site might be moved. Will keep you updated!
First sale is going to the great State of Texas!

Also want to speak about a classmate and friend Dave Johnston, who tragically lost his life yesterday in a motorcycle accident. Dave isn't a turkey hunter, but he purchased the FIRST call I put out on the market, with the authentication sent to him, he wanted it for a collector's item. He was a great guy, kind hearted, a gentle giant of a man, and encourager of MANY all his life! I might do next year's Joby 22 series for Dave in his honor.

First Joby 22 Call for Sale. This one took longer than usual, with the bad weather we have had, it made curing difficult but it turned out. But as mentioned this year's series is "The Cheerful Giver", in memory of my Mom who was our biggest supporter! This particular one will have some lasting memories for me. Selling this one for $50, send me a message if you are interested. It will come with an authentication as being the first one on the market for this series. might just be collectible one day, who knows!

The FIRST 2026 Joby 22 Duck Call of the year, made for my neighbor Dale Jorgensen. Dale has graciously gave up two prior calls for resale at the end of the last couple of hunting seasons because of the ultra high demand on the inventory. So this one hopefully will remain with him :)
Each call of this years series will have a commemorative sticker honoring my late Mother who passed away last fall. This years series in entitled "The Cheerful Giver" taken from the Bible 1 Cor 9:7. And Dale exemplified this as well by giving up his calls as mentioned so it was fitting he received the first one.
My goal was to get this one done before Mother's Day and thankfully the weather FINALLY cooperated this week. We have had a HORRIBLE spring here in ND with the cold and WIND ughhh, terrible WIND which doesn't seem to stop. So I thank God we were able to meet this goal. More calls will start to be produced soon!

Memorial Plaque (hanging) I made for a new neighbor of ours. Their black lab "Rascal" died on March 30th of this year, same day as my Leo 6 years ago. The first time I met them, they gave Joby all of Rascal's treats and a couple of his toys, ironically on his birthday!
