Bring on September! Here are 3 "Insider" Reasons September Might Be the BEST Month to Raft:

1. The crowds thin out. The whitewater doesn’t.
School is back, summer vacations are winding down, and suddenly there’s a little more breathing room on the river. You still get the splashes, rapids, and adrenaline...just with fewer people competing for them.

2. The weather hits the sweet spot.
September can bring warm afternoons without the peak-summer heat and humidity. Cool river water + comfortable air + a raft full of your favorite people = pretty hard to beat.

3. The Southeast starts showing off.
September is that beautiful transition between summer and fall. The mountains begin hinting at autumn, the air feels different, and the scenery from the river is spectacular. It’s one of those times when the ride to the put-in is almost as pretty as the rafting.

Most think rafting season ends with summer. The people who know better, raft in September!

Cat just doing Cat things...

"We went with Cat a couple days ago and had an absolute blast!! Not only was she funny and silly, but she also really cared about what the group wanted to do. She gave us a bunch of choices about whether we wanted to go through scarier sections or do it a little more mellower.

I also felt very safe because whenever we were coming up on a more technical rapid she explained what we needed to do to stay safe and in the boat.

I'd go again in a heartbeat! Ask for Cat, she really made our day super special."

Thanks for the amazing review, Brianna.

School supplies? Purchased. Backpacks? Ready.

One last good parenting decision before school starts? ABSOLUTELY.

There’s still time to squeeze in one more summer adventure on the Nantahala River before alarms, homework, practices, and “I forgot my lunch” take over your life.

Bring the kids. Get wet. Laugh way too hard. Summer isn’t over until we say it is.

One more trip down the Nantahala. Who’s in?!
