One of my FAVORITE parts of our Coaches Certification is the hands-on, collaborative learning that happens when we get athletes in front of us. 🥎
We work through athletes together.
We talk about what we’re seeing, why we think it’s happening, what we would address first, and what adjustments or transitions we could use to help the athlete make the correction.
Then we get to see it happen in real time.
Here, we were working with an athlete who was falling back at her land position instead of staying in a more neutral posture. We talked through how that position was affecting her direction and contributing to the ball missing high, while also costing her accuracy and speed.
The coaches were able to see the correction, ask questions, talk through different coaching approaches, and understand not only WHAT we wanted to change—but WHY we were changing it.
That’s such a huge part of our Coaches Certification.
I don’t want coaches to leave with a notebook full of information. I want them to leave knowing how to see it, understand it, communicate it, and coach it.
There is so much value in putting coaches in a room together, sharing ideas, asking questions, problem-solving, and learning from each other.
Because the best way to grow as a coach isn’t just through more information.
It’s through education + collaboration + application. 👏🏼
