Before āž”ļø After

Sometimes the biggest improvements happen when you slow things down.

We started this lesson by taking video so she could see what was happening. She was getting stuck behind her hip, but she couldn’t quite feel it during the pitch. Seeing it on video helped connect the dots.

From there, we broke the pitch down piece by piece—starting on her knee, keeping her hips open, feeling the arm work through the slot, and releasing at her thigh. We also used the bungee to help learn stabilization by using her core and glutes. By simplifying the movement, she was able to improve her timing and finally feel what we had been talking about.

By the end of the lesson, she was no longer behind her hip.

The power of breaking down the pitch isn’t just about mechanics—it’s about creating awareness, feel, and confidence.

If your fingers don’t get all the way around the ball, you’re limiting your ability to create true spin and movement. Getting your fingers around the ball allows you to stay connected longer, apply pressure in the right direction, and create that sharp turning action that makes a curveball break.

Don’t just throw the pitch—turn it. The movement happens when your fingertips stay involved through release.

✨ Better finger position = better spin = more movement.

Stop pushing the drop ball. āœ‹šŸ„Ž
The magic happens when the fingertips take over. Snap. Turn. Flip the top.
That’s where true drop ball spin starts to come alive.
The goal here is to flip the spinner with her fingertips, not push the spinner up and around.

Nothing better than seeing it CLICK šŸ¤©šŸ„Ž

The goal was simple: throw the changeup right over the noodle and let it drop at the plate ā¬‡ļø

After making an adjustment, she finally got the movement we were looking for… and her reaction at the end says it all šŸ™Œ
