With permission from her parents, we wanted to update you all on Katie Murphyโs condition.
As we all know, any time we step into the arena we take a risk. Sometimes freak things just happen.
I am pleased to report that while the accident was nothing short of terrible, Katie is doing well!
She did fracture 3 vertebrae, but thankfully no surgery is needed and there was no involvement of the spinal cord. Her face will look like she got in the ring with Rhonda Rousey, but that is only some road rash and decent shiner. She was discharged around 7pm last night. Considering the circumstance, the outcome is best case scenario.
If there is one thing I know about Katie, she is one tough Cowgirl! I knew she was going to be ok the moment I heard her tell the paramedics she didnโt want any shots!๐
I have no doubt she will be back out there as soon as she gets the go ahead.
A great big thank you to everyone who stepped in to help Katie, pray for her and help take care of the horses, Jen and Lottie. When I spoke to Jen last night she told me she had zero concerns about anything when she went with Katie. She felt confident and relieved knowing everything was taken care of. Thank you to our first responders that got here as quickly as possible and handled the situation as swiftly and safely as possible!
We appreciate the prayers for Katie! Please keep them coming as she heads home and begins the healing process. God is good, and his protection was no doubt watching over her yesterday!
