One of the reasons I'm so passionate about coaching pitching is because I know what sports, and specifically pitching, can do for a girls life once she hangs up her cleats.
As much as I want to see her succeed and dominate in the circle, I want to see her succeed and dominate in LIFE.
I speak from my own, personal experience of how staying with a sport and sticking with pitching can shift your daughter's life for the better.
From a more deep self belief and self worth…
to being able to think and feel for herself…
to being able to look failure in the eye and move through it.
It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.
There are challenging times like with anything in life.
But the lessons, strengths and values you learn about team work and self from pitching are ones that not only present themselves in the present, but years (heck even decades) after she stops playing.
It’s worth it. All of it.
Every practice, every win, every loss, every tear, every hug.
It’s all worth it (and then some), to see the woman she will grow up to be. One who will take everything she went through playing a "game" and weave it into the next phases of her life to pass on to future generations in whatever form that may be.
I feel it in myself….as someone who was more shy, insecure, anxious when I was younger.
I know who I see in the mirror now more confidently is because of the strengths I gained from years of pitching and persevering.
I get you….and I got you.
Remember, she’s just one pitch away.
