Mel's Bait Tanks Bait tanks that keep bait alive and healthy through superior filtration and aeration

02/26/2022

Ok, so it's been a while since I've been on here, 2018, I think. For those who may be wondering, I'm still building tanks (winter time only) and have no plans to stop. I am however, going to try something a little different next year. Instead of having a very long waiting list and the pressures of deadlines and promises made, I'm going to build all I can during the winter and put them all up for sale the following spring. I won't have any available this spring as I'm still working on my waiting list and all that I can build will go to that, but should have some available March of 2023. Thank all of you that have been patient enough to endure the looong waiting list, all the kind words that many of you have left, and I appreciate those that may buy one in the future.

Its been a long time coming, but my 100 gallon tank is finally in production. Those of you who know me, know I don't get too excited about anything, but I'm excited about this tank. I've had this thing in the field being used and abused for several months now. We've pushed the limits by overloading it with bait, dirt and debris, and even filling it with a certain very fragile bait and keeping them 24 hours before fishing with them. I cannot say enough about how this thing performs, I'm very proud about how it came out. It has the largest filter that I've ever seen in a bait tank, at 25.5"x18" it's huge. In its standard configuration it has one 1100 gph Rule pump, but is set up to convert to a two pump system in minutes if you're concerned about pump failure while unattended. I chose to use one large pump because it offers the same performance with less battery drain. Either way it has two aerators, two diffusers, and two filter intakes. I could go on, and on about its many wonderfull features but I'll cut it short here and if you want to know more you can ask here or give me a call. If you're intrested in one I'm sure the first question is price, and I'm introducing them at $1200. There will be a limited number of these this spring, after that it will be November when I build more, and I can't guarantee the price will be the same.
