Bad workouts happen. Hard days happen. What matters is showing up anyway. Stay humble. Stay focused. Keep going.
I'm not the best at sparring, but I think one of the hardest lessons for many people in sparring is realizing that you can't avoid every strike.
Sooner or later, you're going to get tagged. You're going to take a shot. You're going to absorb some contact.
Ironically, experience makes you learn that sometimes the best response isn't to retreat from it but instead to lean into it, stay composed, and keep moving forward with purpose.
The real battle often isn't against your opponent. It's against your ego.
An injured ego causes more losses than a bruised body ever will. The moment you become angry, frustrated, or desperate to "get even," your judgment disappears and your technique follows.
A punch, kick, or strike may sting for a moment. A wounded ego can cost you the entire match.
Stay calm. Stay humble. Stay focused.
The goal isn't to prove you're untouchable. The goal is to keep fighting intelligently even if you discover you're not.
