Hopefully, your 4th was as exciting as ours! We take our history seriously at Shaka Rafting. Our guide decided to mimic the 1954 train wreck where a box car FLIPPED into the river from which the rapid got its name. How did he do?

The rapids were named the Boxcar Rapids in January 1954,[3] when Engine No. 857 on the Oregon Trunk Line of the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway turned a curve in the railroad and hit a rock slide. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxcar_Rapids

If you are running out of things to do this holiday weekend we have a few trip times still open. Mention this post and get $20 off your trip this weekend.
