We went 4-2-1 at nationals in TN scoring 44 total runs in 7 games. We played against teams from Ohio, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, and Illinois. These ladies never quit battling. They picked one another up, cheered each other on, and above all played as a team. When things got tough they got tougher. We realized as a team what we are capable of when we work as one. Our bats got hot at times, our defense held their ground, and our pitching kept doing their job. I couldn’t have asked for more. As we walked off the field last night for the final time this season we reflected on all the good times we have had as a team. I have enjoyed and been blessed to have gotten to be able to be a part of these ladies lives. Words can’t say enough how I feel for this team but a few are at the top of my list. Humble, Relentless, Aggressive, Supportive, and Memorable. Thanks to the families and fans for everything. To each of you ladies I want to say never doubt yourselves and always keep your heads held high. You are all worthy of greatness. Thanks again for all the memories.

Ladies came out on fire this evening putting up 12 runs in 3 innings winning our second bracket game 12-4. They are 4-0-1 so far at Nationals in TN. Back on the field tomorrow at 4:55. Let’s go Cobras!!!!

Great win today in our first bracket game! Bats were on fire!! Play again at 7:00 this evening. Let’s go ladies. So proud of how we are working as a team💜💛

We’ve stayed pretty busy! Team dinner at Loveless Cafe food was yummy and service was great!! We decided Extreme Paintball was a good idea 🥴 it was fun! Only a few boo boo’s..

Mattoon cobras AH 18U Defeat KS NITRO-Callison 18U In Nail-Biter

Mattoon cobras AH 18U got out to a 5-run lead in the fourth inning and held on for a 5-3 victory over KS NITRO-Callison 18U on Wednesday. KS NITRO-Callison 18U closed the gap by scoring on an error and a home run.

A single by Elle Kortte put Mattoon cobras AH 18U on the board in the top of the second.

A double by Camille Wines extended the Mattoon cobras AH 18U lead to 4-0 in the top of the third inning.

Maisie Bowers stepped in the circle first for Mattoon cobras AH 18U. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and three runs (two earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out none and walking one. Wines appeared in relief for Mattoon cobras AH 18U.

Wines provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Mattoon cobras AH 18U with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Jillian Rockey went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Mattoon cobras AH 18U in hits. Rockey stole two bases.

Chevelle Porter provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led KS NITRO-Callison 18U with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-1 on the day. Trista Welty, Ella Berntsen, and Porter each collected one hit for KS NITRO-Callison 18U.

Despite the hot day these ladies played 2 great games. We tied our first game and then came back from being down by 5 to win our 2nd game 9-7! Back on the field today at noon and then start bracket play Thursday. Playing very well as we represent our state at nationals in TN while our hearts and prayers are with those close to home in Stew-Stras💙💚
