That’s What’s UP!
The 12u Disrupterz made big improvements this weekend. With a pretty sloppy Saturday, Rain, Mud, and Errors, we still found some rays of sunshine. Like a Backhand stop by Delanie Hill on a hard ground ball to snap off a double play to get out of an inning, and a hard-hit ground ball to left field by Will Connell. However, the sunshine was limited on Saturday, literally and figuratively. Pretty much a wash-out, a muddy sloppy mess! Keeping our heads up we came to play Sunday and even though we didn’t win against the Rockies Sunday morning, we came back to finish the weekend with a win. Justin Ripoll got us fired up hitting a deeeeep ball over the center field fence. To quote the opponent’s center fielder “that ball cleared the fence by a long way”. Hits are contagious, and his home-run sparked a small fire leading to three more hits in the first game that grew into a bonfire in the second game with 6 singles, 2 doubles, and a triple. We scored 6 runs to secure our first win. Trevin Jones had a quality start on the hill throwing a strike percentage of .667, 8 first pitch strikes, and one strike out. Securing the win was made easier with Justin Ripoll bringing the heat, handing out 5K’s and only one hit in the last three innings to finish up.
Improving every week and looking forward to the next!
