Matoaca Community, this one is from the heart. 💗

For the past few weeks, you’ve seen us posting about Matoaca Softball’s Pink Out season in support of breast cancer awareness. Today, we want to share the very special reason behind it.

Right here in our Matoaca community, we have a teacher that so many know, love, and have been blessed by .. Kim Thurston. Mrs. Thurston is currently battling early stage 2 breast cancer, and when we began planning this season, she became our inspiration.

Kim is so much more than an amazing teacher. She is a wonderful person who has made a difference in the lives of so many children and families in our community. Now, during a time when she needs encouragement and support, we want to make sure she knows just how many people are standing behind her.

In Kim’s honor, Matoaca Softball has raised and donated $2,000 toward breast cancer awareness. 💗

Every pink jersey on the field this season represents something bigger than softball. It represents strength. It represents hope. It represents a community coming together for one of our own.

Kim, we see you. We’re rooting for you. We’re praying for you. We hope every time you see our girls take the field in pink, or in the halls .. you’re reminded that the entire Matoaca Softball family and this community is standing right beside you.

No one fights alone. 🎀🥎
