MYB Registration FAQs 🏀
Registration is open for the 2026–2027 Mason Youth Basketball season! We know families may have questions about which program to choose, Athletic team tryouts, and registration deadlines, so we put together a few quick answers below.
1. Which MYB program should I register my child for?
MYB offers three levels of play for athletes who attend Mason Schools or live within the Mason School District boundaries:
• Instructional: Grades 1–2 | In-house league
• Recreational: Grades 3–12 | Grades 3–8 play in CPYBL and Grades 9–12 play in our in-house league
• Athletic: Competitive teams for eligible boys and girls (Grades 3-6)
2. Does my child need to register to play this season?
Yes. All players must complete MYB registration, including players who are interested in trying out for an Athletic team.
3. Is there a separate registration for Athletic team tryouts?
No. Complete the regular MYB registration and select that your athlete would like to try out for an Athletic team. Tryout details will be shared separately with families who opt in.
4. How do I register?

5. When is the deadline?
🏀 Grades 1–6: September 15
🏀 Grades 7–12: October 1
Spots are limited, and age groups may close early if they fill.
Important for 7th & 8th Grade Families:
If your athlete plans to try out for a Mason Middle School team but would like MYB as a backup option, they must still register by October 1.
Registration fees for 7th and 8th graders will not be collected until after Middle School tryouts are complete. Because school tryouts do not take place until November, MYB cannot wait until after tryouts to begin forming teams and planning the season.
