It's been a while since we've been posting updates...but with moving and winter, it has been tough to be in the shop making baits. Yesterday, however, I was able to get out on the ice and do a little hard water fishing for the first time in a while, and I met some really cool people who were more than excited to receive a pack of our ice spike jig trailers. It's got me excited to make and share baits again...so be on the lookout for some more fishing posts and updates on colors and baits.

With summer about to kick off I would like to first shout out our website.

There are great links to interactive maps to help find excellent information on your favorite ponds and lakes. I personally use it to look into areas I haven't fished before. Helpful to plan ahead to see if the species you may be targeting are even present, what kind of stocking may have been done, or even just to help find boat or kayak lauches.

Now for the more exciting part!

For a limited time, we will have pre made bait boxes. They will have some of each style of bait we make as well as different colors that have all proven to bring the fish in. Excellent way to start yoir fishing journey or even just stock up on your plastic supply.

Feel free to reach out for more info or ask about a custom made box for specific fishing needs. We have plenty of glitters and colors so if there is something special you want to try or a long loved favorite color let us know!

I was oh fish ily out fished again by the one and only miss Sara! Hooked into the smaller one and before I could even take the hook out bam her rod tip was down with this good fish. Both fish happily released to spawn again. Thanks again for the fishing and dinner date my love!

Please remember ice fishing can be dangerous! Look out for where the sun melts the top of ice and leaves puddles, this could make it too thin. Watch out for fault cracks. Be careful near rivers where the water is more likely flowing. That will make it harder to freeze and easier to find a soft spot.

WEAR YOUR ICE PICKS! They can't help you if you leave them in your bag or ice tent. PUT THEM ON!

Above all else use the buddy system. If you fish alone at least tell a friend or loved one where you are planning to go and roughly when you plan on returning. Also reach out to them when you are getting off the ice so they know you are safe!

Just a friendly reminder for those in colder climates. As winter gets closer and closer I want to make sure everyone is safe for ice fishing. Remember not to bring your lizard monsters out unless you know for certain the ice is safe!! No body likes a cold lizard.

"The trend of bigger striped bass earlier than usual continues with some anglers experiencing epic outings more in line with mid-to-late June. Not all is nirvana however with obvious holes in year classes and a general lack of numbers. Nevertheless those who are putting in the time are being rewarded with terrific trips. Should you be interested in flounder, then chances are, you won’t have your drift interrupted by others as anglers are too busy chasing striped bass."

Mackerel on the North Shore are holding bass in close, slot stripers are prowling the herring-harboring South and North Rivers, and cows continue to chase pogies in Duxbury Bay.

"The Cape Cod Canal continues to erupt on breaking tides with fish from 25 inches to almost 50 pounds. Cape Cod Bay is seeing some great fishing around mackerel schools, while Buzzards Bay remains loaded with stripers and scattered bunker schools, and some big blues too. Plus, sea bass season opens Saturday."

Read more below from OTW writer Matt Haeffner!

Stripers chase pogies, mackerel, squid and herring, bruiser blues gorge on bunker, scup fishing is on fire and sea bass season opens this Saturday.
