Next week the Maryville First Baptist Church will be available for pickleball play on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7:45 AM until noon and on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Our fall general membership meeting will be held at 5:30 PM, on Thursday, October 8, 2026 in the Craft Room (upstairs) of the Maryville First Baptist Church. We will be holding our election of club officers during the meeting. More details will be published later.

Our annual Halloween Party will be held between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at the Basil Courts in Alcoa. In case of inclement weather we will hold the party at the Maryville First Baptist Church. More details will be published later.

“For all our friends- Eve Babcock posted this on Facebook yesterday morning.
It is with immense sadness and tears to tell you I have lost my wonderful husband and best friend of 40 years on Sunday, Sept. 6th. Ron passed away after short illness in the hospital that was too much for his compromised immune system. I hope they have sailboats, pontoons, shooting ranges, home brew and barbecues in heaven for him to enjoy with his family and friends who passed before him. Tears and heartbreak for a wonderful man who is no longer here with us, but also so many memories of laughter and adventures with Ron. I’ll love you forever darling.”
The Smoky Mountain Pickleball Club sends their love & support to Eve and she will let us know when she plans a memorial at their house in October. ❤️🙏🏼❤️
From Eve: “Ron wanted to be cremated and didn’t want a big service, so I will be doing an informal memorial service at our house in October for pickleball family, friends and neighbors. I will give the date when I get back from seeing family in San Diego that was previously scheduled before Ron got so sick.”

This week the Maryville First Baptist Church will be available for pickleball play on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7:45 AM until noon and on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

The First Baptist Church gym will be closed on Monday, Sept 7th in observance of Labor Day.
