The Northwest Missouri State University women's and men's tennis teams will take to the court this weekend at the ITA Central Regional held in Edmond, Okla.
Northwest's Andrea Zamurri earned the No. 1 seed in the men's singles draw. Zamurri is a two-time ITA Cup qualifier – once in singles and once in doubles. Fabien Calloud notched the No. 6 seed in singles. Calloud qualified for the ITA Cup in doubles in 2019 with Zamurri.
Zamurri and Fillippo Piranomonte will be the No. 2 seed in the men's doubles bracket.
Vera Alenicheva achieved the No. 3 seed in the women's singles main bracket. Sofia Pignataro notched the No. 3 seed in the women's singles B bracket. Kaylyn Chleborad secured the No. 7 seed in the women's singles B bracket.
The Bearcats are under the direction of legendary head coach Mark Rosewell. Rosewell is entering his 39th year as the Bearcat leader on the tennis court. He has generated a career dual mark of 1,193-588 (1,171-558 at Northwest).
Since 2014, Northwest has had four singles players and a doubles team advance to the ITA Cup from the ITA regional tournaments.
