We did ... I finished my 1st full year on dirt..after my son Sebastian drove the Rocklin Del Rio Self Storage #20 for last couple years and with me getting a few races under my belt...I ran for the highest finishing rookie at Marysville raceway fighting all year to make the main events from running B-mains to making the mains through having good finishes in the heats to race our way into top 10s each week...not spinning out, not causing wrecks, and getting the respect from my peers and with all the help throughout the year...
Getting motor right..not the fastest but decent..getting an actual setup in the car and then finally for last race points race of the year we got a steering quickner in her...was like night and day...so not only as a driver learning techniques and fundamentals getting better but improving the car over the season starting in the 20 seconds a lap down to 18 seconds a lap...doesn't sound like much but it is ..
getting all this done by the end of the last races of the year allowed us to stay with in a half second to a second off the faster experienced dirt drivers times..not getting lapped and being competitive and finishing 7th overall with how many drivers showed up and our regular home track drivers we did great...and im proud of it..thank you to everyone that helped...to many to list...you know who you're and you're appreciated.
