The valley rivers have been EN FUEGO these past few weeks and it's only gonna get better.

Just had a last minute cancelation for
Tuesday April 14th.
If you're looking to get out, reach out and let's go have some fun.

Plenty of fishing to be had over the next few months from trout to steelhead to shad and stripers its going to be 1 hellava ride.

The start of the New Year brought the start of the new season and with it came something that can only be described as magical.

From the Trinity to the Coast and the rivers in our back yard, it's been one helleva way to start off the New Year.

Personally, I've been chasing that Coastal Ghost on the swing for 4yrs and have always came up short. Well it finally happened on the hardest river I've ever fished swinging for steelhead. More than the North Umpqua and it all happened on the same day as my dear friend who's been grinding with me for 2 years and a good friend who's got the most Coastal luck ever. He hooked a monster on another Coastal on his first day out 2yrs ago and his first trip these season bangs another. After their magical "Ichigo Ichie" moment with the ghost, they told me to swing away. Well I did just that, after my 10th cast getting my distance dialed, my fly hit the water, a fish rolled in the tailout and the rest was history. What a special moment and what an emotional roller-coaster for about 1.5hrs where we all hooked into adults 1 after another. Yes I was crying like a little........baby. A moment I'll never forget and spent with 2 of the swingiest dudes I know.
Thanks and for pushing me into the run to swing one up and for not messing up the net job amd photo finish. Truly special.

On top of that, flows have come down on the Trinity and it's fishing extremely well, the local waters have been turning over some beautiful fish and the Coast will be ready for another go.

Big shout out to my boy for helping out with a double boat float. You crushed it brotha. Till next time.

Bit of a storm for a well needed fresh rotation of fish, when these rivers come down, it's ON LIKE DONKEY KONG.

What a way to start off the winter steelhead season and to bring in the New Year.
Big flows happening all over Northern California and that only means one thing, GOOD TIMES and TIGHT LINES on big WINTER STEELHEAD. The Feather, Trinity, American, Yuba and the Coast are gettin a shake down and a recirculation of Chrome.

A few saltytrout highlights before the big floods blew us off the rivers.

For 2026
I will be at the ISE Spprtsmans Expo working the Adamsbuilt Booth. Proud to announce that I am the new California, Nevada and Arizona AdamsBuilt Product Representative.
I will have my Nor Cal Fly Guides booth at the Pleasanton Fly Fishing Show as usually, and I will also be working the AdamsBuilt booth as well.
Also excited to announce that I am doing Product and Development with/for on new products that will be coming to the market.
Big changes are a coming and the future looks bright.

There's nothing better than a quick little lunch break guide hat off swing session to warm up the soul.

Only a few minutes into our lunch break and I guess it was clinic time. Was pretty cool to show the guys how to work a fish that's not quite committing to the grab especially one that's on the dangle. One of the hardest grabs a sw***er can get, that usually comes up with a big fat goose 🥚 and one that can only be perfected over time.

It's been a while since we've seen days like this and fish like this. One of the best falls we've seen in years.

Hope you are all able to get out and enjoy the fall colors, this great weather and some epic fishing.

We still have some winter dates available. Whether it be dry fly on the Yuba, big steelhead on the coast or something in between, give us a ring.

We've been having some killer days chasing our fun and lively friends over the last 4 weeks. While swinging has been the name of the game these last 4 weeks, indicator fishing is working too. I also fish conventional gear, using spinning rods floats and flies as well as swinging spoons. Both very deadly too.

A few prime dates have come available due to last minute cancelations for those looking to get out on the Trinity with me

Sometimes it's the smaller things on a guided trip that go a long way with your clients. Especially on those 100+° days.

It's been one hellava shad season and it only just begun a few weeks ago. Plenty of weeks left to enjoy the " ".

Come getcha some of the hardest fighting fish that youll ever come across on a fly rod, that will leave you needing some advil, a few adult beverages and a day off of work.

Great time for beginners to learn the art of spey casting or traditional overhand casting with single handed rods and all the while swinging for them.
