Fielding Scores Second Sprint Win BY Dennis Gage Pics: Jessica Cucuk

(Marysville, CA 9/5/26) William Fielding led every lap of the 25 lap sprint car main event at Marysville Raceway Saturday night to score his second feature win of the year. Fielding also secured 3rd overall in the season long championship battle that concluded on Sat.

Second generation Sprint car driver Dryver Dothage followed in the footsteps of his father by capturing the 2026 Championship crown. Dothage finished 7th Saturday but kept a 36 point advantage over Carson Hall. His 11 top ten finishes was his strength in capturing his first driving title.

Misty Castleberry won the battle but lost the war in Crate sprint racing. Castleberry raced to her 4th main event win of the year after she grabbed the lead from K.C. Carpenter on lap 11. Her efforts fell short by just 5 points as Jacob Johnson became the Crate sprint champion for the year. Johnson, a former Hobby Stock champion, ran fifth in the race.

Kyle Cheney nearly won it all as he led the Hobby Stock feature event for 17 of the 20 laps, but Brian Cooper had other ideas as he raced to win. Cheney scored his 3rd straight championship holding a 16 point advantage over Howard Law. Law ran third in the race.

The Coopers were hot on Saturday and Todd Cooper snuck under Shannon Barton on lap 7 of the Sport Modified event to score his third win of the year. Barton held on for second with veteran Jimmy Ford in third. A sixth place finish was adequate for Mike Merritt who won the championship over youngster Cole Fear by just 8 points. One of the closest battles of the year. 3rd finishing Dan Brown Jr. was on 2 points behind Fear.

Jake Haulot was the sprint car fast qualifier and ran a close second to Fielding. Andy Gregg returned to sprint car racing to come from 10th to finish third.

The crates almost went non stop until a minor caution on lap 19. The required green, white, checkered made the race go 21 laps. Carpenter kept second. Jason Ballentine was 3rd.

Racing will resume with the annual Dwarf Car Nationals on Sept. 18 and 19.

Four Deserving Winners Celebrate Victory Lane at Marysville Raceway (Top DAWG Racing Photos)

MARYSVILLE, Calif. (8/15/26) …Marysville Raceway hosted an exciting night of racing Saturday, August 15, with 57 different drivers attending tonight’s event. Four deserving drivers found their way to Victory Lane during the evening’s feature events.

KC Carpenter made history by scoring his first career main event victory in the 20-lap Crate Sprint feature. Carpenter put together a strong run to capture the win and celebrate a milestone victory at the Action Track of the West. The main event started off with a bang. Two failed attempts with one of them involving Misty Castleberry getting upside down. Once the race found a rhythm, Carpenter was up front. The Ballantine brothers raced hard for the second spot. Late in the race, Jason passed Mike and earned second. Kevin Lovell and Jacob Johnson battled the entire race for the fourth spot. In the end, Lovell finished fourth and Johnson finished fifth. Carpenter swept the entire night with his heat race one win. Castleberry ruled the second heat race.

Cole Fear was dominant in the 20-lap IMCA Sport Mod main event, leading the way and securing a convincing victory. Fear led every lap. Mike Merritt had another strong night and finished second. As always, Dan Brown Jr. hung around the top five all night and finished third. Only one yellow slowed the race. The Sport Mod drivers put on the best overall show. Fear swept the night of racing by winning heat one. Jason Clayton Jr. dominated heat two.

In the 25-lap 360 Sprint main event, Sean Becker started sixth and patiently worked his way toward the front before taking the lead on lap 17. Becker went on to score the victory, marking his second win at Marysville Raceway in the past month. Nick Larsen did a great job all night. He led the first 17 laps, and once he got passed by Becker, he stayed solid and finished second. Brad Bumgarner ran third. It was nice to see all the top three back at Marysville. All three have been limited to racing with us this season.

Adrianna DeMartini was the highlight of the evening. She secured the fastest lap in qualifying at 12.406. She finished third in the first heat race. After 25 laps she crossed the finish line in fourth. William Fielding scored the fifth-place finish. Fielding and Carson Hall were victorious in heat race competition.

The Hobby Stock finale was a wild one, with Jace Badeker returning to Victory Lane in the 20-lap feature. The race was slowed by several incidents and debris on the racing surface and was ultimately shortened to 18 laps. First start was nullified by a jump start. At one point a driver would not leave the track after being black flagged for not having on safety driving gloves. Another driver was disqualified for rough driving. It was just one of those nights. Added to the strangeness, was when race leader Kyle Cheney’s wheel broke and he came to a stop. This gave the lead back to Badeker. Surviving the madness was Howard Law, who scored a second-place finish. Ryan Smith drove up from eighth to finish third. Jacob Johnson won the first heat race by a country mile. Cheney scored the win during heat two.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Marysville Raceway Cancels August 8 Event Due to Extreme Heat

MARYSVILLE, Calif. (August 5, 2026) …Marysville Raceway officials have announced the cancellation of this Saturday night's racing program, scheduled for August 8, due to the forecast of extreme high temperatures throughout the region.

After carefully monitoring the weather forecast and considering the safety and well-being of drivers, crews, officials, fans, and staff, track management made the decision to cancel the event.

"This was not an easy decision, but the safety of everyone involved must come first," said Dennis Gage of Marysville Raceway. "With temperatures expected to reach dangerous levels, we feel it is in everyone's best interest to cancel the event rather than put our competitors, fans, and staff at risk."

The August 8 race will not be rescheduled, and the next event on the Marysville Raceway calendar will take place on August 15th as originally planned.

Marysville Raceway appreciates the understanding and continued support of its fans, competitors, sponsors, and race teams. Everyone is encouraged to stay tuned to the track's official social media channels and website for updates regarding upcoming events.
