We here at Marysville Martial Arts pride ourselves on being the area’s premier traditional martial arts school for adults, teens and children. Our classes consist of Chinese (Northern Longfist Kung Fu, Traditional Wushu, Tai Chi), Korean (Jungyae Moosul), and Filipino (Balintawak) martial arts. Kung Fu (Kungfu, gong fu, gung fu) is a common name for all Chinese martial arts. Our Kung Fu style (Nor
thern Longfist) is as graceful as it is practical and powerful. Wushu is the Chinese word for all styles of Chinese martial arts. In recent years, modern Wushu has shifted its emphasis from combat to performance art and sport. While many of these modern elements are present in our classes, our focus is on traditional Wushu. Jungyae Moosul is a modern, Taekwondo-based, hybrid martial art that combines elements from several different arts. Jungyae Moosul places a large emphasis on the theories and principles that tie all martial arts together. Tae Kwon Do (Taekwondo, Tae-Kwon-Do), often referred to as Korean Karate, is a martial art that was created in the late 1950s. Tae Kwon Do focuses on teaching powerful kicks and an indomitable spirit. Balintawak - The Taboada Cuentada System is based on classic Balintawak close-quarter fighting, which originated and was tested in the streets of Cebu City, Philippines. Identified by its use of the single stick and close quarter play, it is designed to develop combat attributes: speed, timing, and distancing. Additionally, emphasis is placed on the economy of motion, flexible body alignment without unnatural or forced postures, and delivery of direct line strikes to produce lightning-fast counterattacks. Kung Fu 4 Kids Our Kung Fu 4 Kids curriculum has been designed especially for the young warriors at heart.
