We were able to talk with fellow teams this weekend and were able to try some new set up ideas. With that little bit of knowledge we were able to get more drive off the corners. I was able to get up to 16th, but on lap 7 I clipped the infield tractor tire and broke the drag link.

Even tho I made some driving mistakes, overall we are getting better every night.

Next up Millstream Speedway, August 15th.

7/25 Fremont Race Recap

Qualified 17th
Heat Race 6th > 6th
Feature 17th > DNF

During the heat race I was able to make my way up to 4th, then got over the cushion and fell back to 6th. Then during the feature, on the first lap I spun avoiding another car that had spun which sent us to the rear of the field. A few laps later I got tight and spun on my own. Unfortunately, I was charged with both cautions even tho the first on was not all my fault. This meant I was not able to continue in the feature.

We were able to find some more things we liked and felt more comfortable in the car.

Race Recap of Mansfield:

If we had any sort of luck on Saturday it was bad luck…

We changed our rear end before engine heat after we found a massive oil leak once we arrived at the track.

We were able to get the new rear end swapped before hot laps and qualifying. However, after hot laps we blew an oil line and weren’t able to get a qualifying time.

Once back to the trailer we diagnosed the issue (so we thought) and went out for our heat race. As the green flag dropped and I hit the gas, the gear shifter popped out of gear which led me to pulling off.

After we got back to the trailer we found another engine leak and decided to pack up and not do any more damage to the engine or rear end.

Such a shame for the team as Mansfield is a very nice facility and we were looking forward to racing here again this season!

We will be at Suds Brothers Car Wash event on July 9th from 5-7pm. More details to come!!

Due to unforeseen circumstances at Atomic Speedway, we will not be racing this Saturday (June 20).

We’re disappointed by the decision made to move the Ohio Sprint Speedweek Finale from Atomic Speedway, but unfortunately these are the things that happen with our current situation. All presale tickets for the event will be refunded.

We aren’t done fighting to keep Atomic Speedway alive yet, we look forward to welcoming the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on July 3rd for the Independence 50. We hope things change for the better and want to thank the Lucas Oil Late Model Series for sticking with us.
