When I started Colin’s Heart Foundation, heart screenings were part of my five-year vision.
I thought it would take years to build the relationships, resources, partnerships, and support necessary to make something like this happen.
Instead, God placed the right people in our path, and in a matter of MONTHS, that five-year vision is becoming reality.
On October 24, 2026, Colin’s Heart Foundation will take one of our biggest steps yet:
We’re moving from awareness to ACTION.
This is bigger than an event to me. This was born from a pain I wish no parent ever had to understand.
I can’t change what happened to Colin. I can’t go back and give us information we didn’t have. But I can fight to make sure more parents have information, more young people have access to screening, and more families have an opportunity to find something before tragedy strikes.
And none of this happened alone.
Some incredible people in the heart-health community saw the vision, believed in the mission, and helped us accomplish in months what I thought might take five years.
Thank you to My HeartCheck, the Ollie Hinkle Heart Foundation, Ella's Umbrella, Dr. Deepa Mokshagundam, Ferguson Florissant School District, and everyone who has opened a door, shared knowledge, made an introduction, offered resources, or simply asked, “How can we help?”
And thanks to Strive For Life Foundation we’re able to offer this heart screening event FREE to families.
Young people will have access to EKG screening AND an echocardiogram testing that can otherwise be expensive and difficult for families to access.
And thanks to the Ollie Hinkle Heart Foundation, families will also have access to CPR & AED training because prevention matters, but so does knowing what to do when seconds count.
Early detection AND emergency preparedness.
That’s a full wraparound. That’s action!
This is what I wanted Colin’s Heart Foundation to become.
Not just telling Colin’s story,
But doing something because of it.
Awareness that leads to education.
Education that leads to screening.
Screening that can lead to early detection.
Training that prepares people to respond.
And all of it working together with one goal:
Helping more children come home.
A five-year goal.
Becoming reality in a matter of months.
Colin, I do this in honor of you, son.
I would give anything for you to be here to see what your life has inspired. Since I can’t change our story, I’m going to keep doing everything I can to help change someone else’s.
I love you, Colin.
Forever 14. Still Running Strong.
