Congratulations to our little Hudson on earning his first stripe yesterday! 🥰

Hudson has been doing Tots class and been overall gym baby since he was 1.5, and has recently moved up to Minis class.

To know Southern Soul is to know Hudson 🤣

We are so proud of him and can't wait to watch him continue to grow ❤️

Three years ago, Southern Soul Academy was just a dream.

Today, we filled a beach pavilion with families, friends, teammates, coaches, and kids running around playing games on the mats.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us today. Thank you for spending part of your Saturday with us, even in the rain. Thank you for trusting us with your families, supporting one another, and helping create the community that Southern Soul has become.

People often tell us how much this gym has impacted their lives, but the truth is that you've impacted ours too. The friendships, memories, laughter, and support we've found through this community have been more than we ever could have imagined.

What we've built together is so much bigger than jiu jitsu.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this journey. ❤️

Competition can be a wonderful tool for kids.

But the biggest victories aren't always the ones that happen on the podium.

Every tournament is an opportunity to learn courage, manage nerves, solve problems, show good sportsmanship, and discover what they're capable of.

As parents and coaches, our job isn't to make sure they win.

It's to make sure they still love Jiu Jitsu when it's over.

Let them laugh.
Let them make mistakes.
Let them be proud of themselves for showing up.

Because years from now, they probably won't remember every medal.

But they'll remember how they felt.

And if we're doing it right, they'll leave the mats with confidence, resilience, and memories that last far longer than any trophy.
