Because of traditional coaching and the worry about command, most youth pitchers will hang out over the rubber and NOT move forward down the mound early enough.
The throwing hand should NEVER cross to the second base side of the pitching rubber.
This causes the arm to continue climbing which will hurt the shoulder (impingement) and cause late and aggressive stress on the arm and elbow.
