GMA salutes some true warriors who are fighting very hard. Oct is crazy, with fall foliage and national bully prevention month, we have lots of going on. But not to be lost in the shuffle, it is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month (and today is Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day). We have students and parents dealing with this issue, and thoughts are with all who are facing this battle

BUSY weekend had the total Gentry team pulled in different directions again, but congrats to those who competed at FUJI BJJ world championship in Indy. Overall the team took 2 gold, 8 silver and 2 bronze. Special thanks to Michael Dodge and Chuck Goforth for coaching all weekend. Lots of positives, but still work to be done.

Perfect weather for this year's Fall Foliage festival parade. Thanks to everyone who came out to participate. It's good to see so many friendly familiar faces along the route.. Our students learned a lot about perseverance while completing one of the longest parades in the state. We support the community, have a good time and get stronger in the process. We had a lot of little legs marching this year, and they all showed toughness today. While we expect it, still very proud.

Our anti-abduction and anti-bully class for kids is one week away! (Oct 17th). The class is open to everyone ages 6-13. We only hold it a couple of times a year, so hope everyone can make it that needs to. And ok, we might not cover how to deal with this type of abduction....but made you look. 😜

This week I was humbled to share my gift as part of a missions trip to the Whiteriver Apache Reservation in AZ.

Playing tag w the kids afterward I was referred to as "old man" I reminded them of the respect portion of our class, and they promptly corrected themselves. I was henceforth known as "OLD SIR!". The name stuck...and I'm kinda ok w it.
