Varsity Football News:

Thankfully the air quality seems to be moving in the right direction for our game tomorrow! Looking forward to cheering on our Bulldogs with all of you 😊
A few reminders this week:

- Game Day @ Hercules to tomorrow 5pm. Admission $3. Please see me at the game to pick up your roster.

- Fundraiser has been extended another week until 9/8/21. Keep selling those bags!! Order forms and money due Wednesday 9/8/21,

- Team dinner this week will be at the Yacht Club immediately following practice. Bobby Boyd Sr. is hosting and we are in need of 3 parents to help set up and serve food. If you are available to help set up and serve food this Thursday at 5:30pm please let me know.

- Our first home game this Friday 9/3…Go Dogs!!!

- Sign up genius reminder- please sign up to feed our team throughout the season, there are many opportunities available.

- Fall Sports Senior Banner pictures will be taken on Tuesday, September 7th between 2:30 and 4:30 at the highschool.

- We are still collecting goods for our community service donation drive. Please spread the word, let’s keep filling those bins! Donations can also be brought to our first home game on 9/3.

- Senior player/mom photoshoot on Sunday 9/19 at 4:30pm at the field. Suzanne Jeffcoats -Tyler’s mom is generously sharing her time and talent to capture some precious Senior Football player/mom photos – the shoot will include everyone together and options for individuals as well. Players will wear their home jerseys with jeans and mom’s will wear the away jersey. Attaching some ideas to this post.

Here we are, our first season game upon this Friday! Looking forward to cheering on our Bulldogs with all of you 😊
A few reminders this week:

- Fundraiser check in this Wednesday at practice. Please have your player bring their fundraiser order form to practice on Wednesday for a check in. Wednesday is the half way point of the fundraiser and the goal is for everyone to have at least 10 bags sold.

Hello Bulldog Family,

The season is off to a good start! The energy at practice is positive and upbeat and our Bulldogs are working hard, and having fun! I am writing to share info, news and updates as we embark on our season.

There is an adjustment to the practice schedule this week due to coaches meetings. Monday and Thursday practice will be 4:15 to 6:55 with no player meetings those days, players are to be on the field at 4:15. Tuesday and Wednesday will be the normal time 4:15 to 7:15 and Friday 3:50 to 5:20.

There will be an email coming out from Mr. Chamberlain about a Fall Parent Meeting via Zoom this Thursday 7/19 at 7:00pm. It will begin as an all-fall sport intro and then break out into just football. Keep your eye out for that email. Once the link and the details on the meeting become available I will share them here as well.

Senior Banner pictures are scheduled for 9/7. The link to purchase and details will be available soon from Jenni and Katie. Thank you both for organizing this!

Our first community service event kicks off tomorrow with our donation drive for the Martinez Homeless Camp. Let’s work together to fill those bins!

Lastly, homecoming is just around the corner and the tradition continues where the football players will show their support to the cheerleaders during the week of homecoming. The cheerleaders were asked what they would like from our players this year and the consensus was little presents/ goody bags each day of the week of homecoming. Similar to what the cheerleaders do for the football payers. On a volunteer basis each football player will choose a cheerleader or two to give little presents/ goody bags to each day during the week of homecoming 9/27 to 9/30. The presents/goody bags can be candy, snacks, baked goods, etc. The cheerleaders wish list are things like cookies, skittles, M&M’s, sour patch kids, Swedish fish, snickers, gum, mints, cheez-it’s, chips, Takki’s, and Hot Cheetos. In addition to the little presents/goody bags on 10/1 before the game the cheerleaders will receive a custom AHS cheer facemask, eyelashes (their request 😊) and flowers. To cover the cost of the facemask, eyelashes and flowers I will be collecting $10 per player. You can pay via cash, venmo or paypal.

Hello Fellow Bulldog Families,

I hope this email finds you well! Doesn't it feel nice to be starting a normal football season and school year?

My name is Alicia Boyd and I am excited to be this season's team mom. There are some exciting things planned for this season and I look forward to working with all of you to bring them into fruition. The past 17 months have been challenging for all of us and it seemed like no time like the present to bring back some of the Bulldog traditions while taking the opportunity to create new traditions as well.

Some of the things that are in the works are of course team dinners, senior night, pre-game snacks and drinks for away games on the bus, homecoming and a college info night. We will also be bringing back the tradition of community service by volunteering with organizations such as Passion to the Streets and the Martinez Homeless Camp. We are eager to get back to showing our AHS Bulldog pride by giving back to our community that gives so much to us.

I will be communicating with all of you through Team App and the AHS Bulldogs football page for sharing information and updates, and Sign Up Genius for team dinners and pre-game snacks. The Sign Up Genius links will soon follow.

It truly takes a village to raise up our youth and I am thankful you are all part of that village. Thank you to those of you who have already reached out to offer your help, I greatly appreciate it. Together, by keeping our focus and goals on creating a fun, positive experience for the team, we are sure to have a memorable season.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Yesterday was a tough day as far as COVID goes. Our ability to continue with our current camps and officially start sports on Monday has now been canceled. Many of you heard Gov. Newsom’s press conference in which he stated that these next 3 to 4 weeks are going to be tough. We are all asked to continue to work together on getting through this. Please continue to wear a mask, social distance and wash your hands.

So where does that leave us as far as athletics at Alhambra

1. All current camps are suspended until further notice

2.We WILL NOT start any official seasons on Monday12/7.

3.The earliest we will be starting sports back up would be early Jan BUT we will still need to wait for direction from the State, County and District offices.

4.Does this mean there will be no Sports for 20/21?? NO The CIF,NCS and DAL has not yet thrown in the towel but we have to get to Jan before any further decisions will be made. The leaders of all these groups and ours here (Mr. Chamberlain, Ms. Paradise and Myself) at Alhambra are trying everything we can to be as creative as possible to make something happen.

We are still clearing athletes with completed requirements on a daily basis.

6.These next 3 weeks are going to be crucial to your final push and success in the classroom. Please make every effort to get your work done and prepare yourself to give yourself the best chance to do well on your finals. It's crunch time and as Athletes you know what it takes to put in the work so LET'S DO THIS and Good Luck. We are rooting for you!!

7. ALL Athletic facilities ARE CLOSED (YES- THAT INCLUDES OUR FRONT FIELD) We are very sorry ,but Please stay away. Most public parks are still open if you need to get in a run. I appreciate your understanding and support on this.
