If you’re looking for an excuse to get the sh***un out this fall, here’s a good one.

The Marshall County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League is hosting the 2026 Ruth & Dale Dolash Memorial Sporting Clay Shoot on Sunday, October 4th in Marshalltown.

💥 100 targets for $40
💥 Kids 16 & under can shoot one round for $10 with a paid adult
💥 Registration runs 8:30 AM–1:00 PM
💥 Shooting starts at 9:00 AM
💥 Food and drinks will be available at the clubhouse

This is a fun local shoot and a great opportunity to get out, break some clays, and support the Marshall County Izaak Walton League.

October is a busy time of year around here, but sometimes you need to forget about the harvest and chores for a few hours and go make some orange dust. 😎

Grab a buddy, bring the kids, and come shoot.

🕊️ IOWA DOVE OPENER — SEPTEMBER 1, 2026! 🕊️

It’s almost time! Brink Excursions is getting ready for Iowa Dove Opener, and we’re looking forward to kicking off another hunting season with some fast shooting, good company, and plenty of fun in the field.

🔫 WHAT TO BRING

✅ Sh***un
✅ Steel Shot — #6 or #7, 2¾" shells
✅ 4 boxes of shells — doves have a way of making you use more than you planned 😎
✅ Pack of dove decoys
✅ Camo shirt
✅ Camo hat
✅ Tan or camo pants
✅ Shoes/boots that can get wet and muddy
✅ Bucket or packable chair
✅ Bag/backpack to carry shells and gear
✅ Bug spray
✅ Sunscreen
✅ Sh***un plug

**REMINDER:** Your pump or semi-auto must be limited to 3 shells total — 1 in the chamber + 2 in the magazine tube.

🪪 WHAT YOU NEED FROM THE STATE

Before heading out, make sure you have:

✅ Hunter Education — required to obtain your hunting license, when applicable
✅ Iowa Hunting License
✅ Migratory Bird Fee
✅ Habitat Fee

Make sure everything is purchased and ready before September 1st so opening morning is about hunting—not paperwork!

🕊️ Dove opener is a great way to shake off the rust, get back in the field, and start another hunting season with friends and family.
