🥎 **The New MSA Website is Live!** 🥎

The Marshalltown Softball Association is excited to announce that our new website is officially up and running!

We're still working through a few final details and making improvements, but the site is now available and will continue to grow as we add more information, photos, history, league resources, and features.

You can already use the site to:
✅ View league schedules
✅ Access registration information
✅ Stay up to date on league news and announcements
✅ Learn more about MSA and our Board of Directors
✅ Find important softball information throughout the season

We also encourage all players and managers to download the **PlayMetrics app**, which will be our primary platform for schedules, team communication, notifications, and league updates moving forward.

Thank you for your patience as we transition from our old LeagueLineup website to a more modern platform. We're excited about the future of MSA and look forward to continuing to improve the experience for everyone who calls the South 6th Street Complex home.

🚨 MSA Complex Reminder 🚨

We’ve had several people bring this to our attention recently, so we wanted to send out a quick reminder.

Outside alcohol is not permitted inside the MSA Complex. If you’d like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage while at the ballpark, please purchase it from the Grand Slam Grill.

Also, smoking and va**ng are not allowed inside the complex, including:
❌ Dugouts
❌ Gazebos near the concession stand
❌ Spectator areas and common areas

Smoking and va**ng are only permitted in the parking lot, along the bike trail, or outside the complex.

These are not new rules, just a reminder. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping keep the complex a safe, family-friendly environment for players, coaches, officials, and fans.

🥎 MSA Improvement Project 🥎

While Mother Nature keeps finding ways to cancel softball games, a few of us decided to put the downtime to good use.

This week, the old wooden bench seats and backs were replaced with brand-new aluminum seating at the complex. No more splinters, no more wobbly boards, and significantly less chance of ending up with a piece of the bench stuck in your shorts.

A huge thank you to Jim Palmer, former MSA Board Member and President of American Aluminum Seating, Inc. (AASI), for generously donating the aluminum. Thank you also to Beth Tichy Barnes, our longest-serving active board member, for helping make the donation happen.

The installation crew consisted of MSA President Adam Gorsuch, his sons Keaghan and Aidan, and Vice President Austen DeRuiter. As the photos show, there was SOME hard work involved… and at least one person making sure the project was properly documented with a selfie.

We appreciate everyone who continues to invest their time, effort, and resources into improving the 6th Street Softball Complex. See you at the ballpark—hopefully when we’re playing softball instead of building furniture!

Mother Nature wins again. We want to play. You want to play. The fields… currently want to be a swamp.

Tonight’s games are postponed and rescheduled for July 8th.

Maybe next week Mother Nature will finally get the hint.

🚨 MSA 16-Inch League Update 🚨

Due to today’s weather, ongoing rain, and the forecast for additional thunderstorms this evening, we are postponing tonight’s 16-inch league games.

We know it’s frustrating. We want to be playing ball too, but Mother Nature had other plans tonight.

We’ll work on rescheduling these games and will get that information out as soon as possible.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. Enjoy the unexpected night off, and keep an eye on the MSA page for updates on the makeup dates.
