🏆 TEAM MINNESOTA HEADS WEST FOR THE 2026 16U NATIONAL DUALS 🏆

Team Minnesota is set to compete at the 2026 16U National Duals in Farmington, Utah, this week at Western Sports Park. The event begins Wednesday morning with Greco-Roman competition and concludes Thursday afternoon with placement matches. Freestyle action will follow on Friday and Saturday.

The 16U division features wrestlers born in 2010 and 2011, and Minnesota will send two teams under the leadership of 16U Age Division Director Gary Auer.

This year's squad appears poised for another strong national showing. In Greco-Roman, keep an eye on Garrett Bjerga, Cayden Neisen, Rex Ayshford, and Grayson Schroeder as Minnesota looks to battle among the nation's best. When Freestyle begins on Friday, watch for Kaden Lindquist, Beckett Edstrom, Kadin Martin, and Destan Skelly to lead the charge.

Team Minnesota has established itself as one of the premier programs in the country at the 16U National Duals. Last year, Minnesota placed 3rd in Freestyle and 5th in Greco-Roman. In 2024, Minnesota finished 5th in Greco and 9th in Freestyle.

Looking back through the record books, the last Minnesota 16U Greco-Roman National Championship came in 2021 when Team Minnesota defeated Oklahoma 48-26 in the championship dual. That same team also earned a 3rd-place finish in Freestyle.

Minnesota has consistently been among the nation's elite at the 16U level, and this year's team is eager to continue that tradition on the national stage.

🔥 2026 14U National Duals Preview 🔥

Team Minnesota has landed in Florida for the 2026 14U National Duals, taking place June 9-12 at the Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus. The 14U division features some of the nation's top wrestlers born in 2012 and 2013, competing in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle competition.

Greco-Roman action begins tomorrow, June 9, at 7:00 a.m. CST with three rounds of preliminary pool competition. Greco competition will conclude Wednesday afternoon before athletes weigh in again for Freestyle. Freestyle competition begins Thursday morning at 7:00 a.m. CST and wraps up on Friday.

Minnesota will put out one tough team to compete at this year's event in its new Florida location in Wesley Chapel. The roster is loaded with wrestlers who have put in the work throughout the spring and summer, and we are excited to see them represent Minnesota on the national stage.

Looking back, last year Minnesota finished 3rd in Greco-Roman and 9th in Freestyle. In 2024 they finished 7th in both styles.

Looking further back, Team Minnesota captured the 14U Freestyle National Duals Championship in 2021 with a victory over California in the finals. In 2019, Minnesota finished as Greco-Roman National Runner-Up, falling only to Pennsylvania.

This year's squad is accomplished and looks to continue Minnesota's tradition of excellence and challenge some of the nation's best teams throughout the week.

Wrestling Camp starts today at 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. We are at the Minneota High School Aux Gym. Miklo will run both sessions today and Taylor will run both sessions Monday! Let's have a great camp.

Today, the Minneota Wrestling family is mourning the loss of a dedicated supporter and friend. 💙💛

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Ed Lozinski, whose presence and encouragement have been a part of Minneota Wrestling for many years. Whether he was helping with our youth program, cheering from the stands, supporting his sons and grandsons, or simply being a familiar face around the program, Ed's impact will not be forgotten.

During this difficult time, we ask that you keep Ed's family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. May they find comfort in the countless memories they shared and strength in the support of our community.

Our wrestling family extends its deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved him. His support, kindness, and spirit will always be remembered.

Rest in Peace, Ed.

Good Luck to our Minneota Wrestlers competing this weekend and next week! Huxtin Anderson, Harrison Schuelke, and Drew Fier. We also have some older ones that will be competing next week in Lincoln Schuelke and Colton Bitker. We will share those when the teams come out.

Great first day of summer wrestling! 36 kids showing up at 6am was great to see! Reminder this is open to anyone that wants to come K-12 boys/ girls and even if you just want to try out the sport! If you have any questions or need anything, just reach out to one of the coaches!
