Hello softball families and happy summer break!
I know it might seem crazy to be thinking ahead to high school spring softball, but so much preparation (both on the part of the players as well as the boosters) goes on starting in late summer and continues through to the end of the season in May each year.
We are excited to share information with you, especially for our incoming freshman, and get any questions answered regarding softball at the high school level.
To that end, we would like to invite ALL FAMILIES (9-12th) to join us for a short informational meeting on Tuesday, June 23rd at 7:00pm at the Kiwanis Pavilion at Adams Township Park.
Coach Jerry and the booster board will be on hand to give an overview of the high school softball team and will highlight the following:
Opportunities for off-season play/skills
-fall ball tournament (small cost) and practices
-winter training / conditioning (no cost)
The Spring Training trip to Florida in March and fundraising
-serves to jumpstart our competitive play in a more temperate environment, allowing for field time that is lacking due to Western PA weather in March
-typically has been offered every other year and is consistently reported as the players' most memorable part of their high school softball career
-participation in fundraising and solicitation of team sponsorships increases booster funds that not only get passed down to help offset each family's trip cost, but also serve to fund the many programs/events that ALL PLAYERS benefit from (including winter conditioning sessions with Coach Curt from Edge Performance Lab, game day meals/snacks, and swag just to name a few)
Since we are hoping to have enough players to field BOTH a varsity and JV team this year, player cuts are unlikely (as they have not occurred in recent years) and we encourage EVERYONE to participate in all these opportunities.
