A poem for our ballers..
𝓐 𝓼𝓮𝓪𝓼𝓸𝓷𝓼 𝓮𝓷𝓭…
A final stroll threw a quiet park reveals a warriors end,
Tattered bat bags and uniform pants display a family of friends.
What did the game give you as you venture forth?
A life’s worth of lessons defining your worth.
Calm deep breaths to bring it all in,
Silence overcomes you, and out comes the warrior within.
You are focused and prepared as much as can be,
You are aching and sore and ready for victory.
Holes in the gloves, cleats worn to the base,
You say nothing at all, it’s all in your face.
Heart rates slow to the calm before the storm.
The anxiety dulls from work ethic so formed.
From throwing partners and sisterhoods that were born,
The final day has arrived and a coaches heart feels so torn.
Daughters not of blood but from deep in the soul,
Recalibrating our teachings to capture the ultimate goal.
Fighting to the end the hugs will feel tighter,
The tears start to flow and your heart feels much lighter.
You are leaving the park one last time to chapter number two,
Parents have given so much to see the smile in you.
Friends, family and team stronger than steel,
The end is now here, can this be real?
The travel all over, nowhere left to go,
The boundless emotion is all that you show.
You’ve been taught more than the game, life lessons together,
To carry the GA logo means GAPfamilia forever. ♥️🤍💙
