Sounds like a great idea and something we should consider

I was at a two-gun match this weekend. As usual, we gathered around and paid allegiance to the U.S. flag.
The match director then went through the roster and collected the match fee. $5 off for members. $5 off for RSOs. He glanced up at about 40 shooters, paused at Jimmy and said: “Jimmy, $5 extra for the Nike shoes. Next time, it’s a DQ.”
Fortunately for Jimmy, he had an extra pair of boots in the truck. We all had a laugh but, message sent, received loud and clear.
PS: No one thought wearing Nike shoes is more important than stopping the Iranian nuclear program. Nor did anyone think Jimmy was an un-American moron. But since club match directors work their asses off setting up matches, they certainly get slack from me (and all of my fellow shooters) regarding having an opinion that Nike is using racism/division to sell shoes to woke millennials and they are the definition of corporate scum. I doubt he’d really DQ Jimmy next time. But Jimmy might have to shoot in his stocking feet. I for one appreciate the he MD’s point and the way he delivered it.
