Between my day job and my night/weekend job, I use my hands everyday. I rely on my ability to grip/haul/carry very heavy things.

On an average day, between my own personal workouts and lifting/putting away weights for others, I pick up between 20,000 and 30,000 lbs.

I used to get both golfer's elbow(inside) and tennis elbow (outside) on a regular basis.

These conditions can be debilitating to almost anyone but especially someone who works with their hands/grip like I do.

Just as important as the exercises is your recovery. Without recovery, the body will retaliate and break down.

In these videos, I am demonstrating my favorite device for preventing and treating tennis and golfer's elbow. Its called the Rollflex. I use it like a targeted massage as well as a way to break up adhesions.

If you suffer from tendonopathies of the elbow, contact Synergy Sports Medicine & Fitness at (906)228-7600 to set up your FREE consultation.

The hex or trap bar deadlift is one of my favorite exercises, it’s a deadlift but with the location of the handles on the trap bar on the side you’re going to get some more quad activation than compared to a conventional deadlift and also the trap bar with be a little more friendly on your back as well.
The trap bar can also be a great tool for beginners to get started on if they’re learning how to deadlift; mainly because it can be more back friendly and for some people easier to get the movement pattern down first before moving up to the barbell where it’ll be in front of you causing more posterior activation.
If you want to learn more ways to utilize a trap bar or how you can incorporate it into your workouts, call Synergy Sports Medicine and Fitness, (906) 228-7600, to set up a free consultation.

The landmine is a great piece of equipment you can utilize in your workouts especially if you’re at a gym that is crowded or if you’re at home with limited space available. With this piece of equipment you can utilize it for full body strength workouts or any explosive type movements depending on what you’re working towards.
The video shows a few examples of different exercises that you’re able to do with the landmine. If you would like to learn how to do more exercises with this equipment or how you can add it into your workouts, call Synergy Sports Medicine and Fitness, (906) 228-7600, to set up a free consultation.

This is a simple yet very effective exercise if you’re dealing with any muscle imbalance between your calf muscles or if you’re rehabbing post injury. The affected leg is the one closest to the attachment point of the band and the purpose of the band is to provide some resistance to shift your body weight towards the weaker or injured leg. The goal of this exercise is to improve strength and eliminate any imbalances between sides and to work on improving the height of the ankle during the calf raise to make sure both sides are elevating the same.
If you’re someone who has been dealing with ankle or calf injuries and/or noticing any muscle imbalances and would like some ideas or help resolving whatever may be going on; call Synergy Sports Medicine and Fitness, (906) 228-7600, to set up a free consultation.

The dumbbell sn**ch exercise shown in the video, can be a great exercise if you haven’t had much experience doing any olympic lift type movements. It can be a safer option than the barbell while still helping you practice the different movements of the exercise.
If utilized properly it can be a great exercise to add into your workouts to start training a little more explosively. Training with explosive movements are important for any athlete who is looking to improve their athletic performance.
If you would like to learn more about this or any other exercises; call Synergy Sports Medicine and Fitness, (906) 228-7600, to set up your free consultation.
