Not so much a wheeler, but a decent overland rig going together!

UPDATE. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak the club has decided to cancel this years spring opener event. With the federal mandate extended to the end of April and the Michigan lockdown highly expected to be extended as well, we feel it is best just not to have the event this year. We would rather not wait it out keeping people on their toes with travel/housing plans. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We hope to see people at future events. There is no plan to reschedule. Hopefully the next big event the club will have will be this fall for the fall opener event.

We are proud to announce that we have T-shirts, long sleeve shirts, hoodies, and even hats this time around!

All of the products are produced locally by Yooper Shirts.

As in the past few years a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the John Oros Scholarship fund.

The latest time to order shirts is Midnight EST March 25th and we expect to have the shirts and hats in in time for spring opener.

Have you ever wondered who is behind the social media and outreach efforts for the NMU Trailcats? Well, say hello to Maya Aalsburg (Red Chevy) and Felicia Hokenstad (Blue Subaru). A “spotlight post” for the ladies behind the screen, if you will.

“Hey my name is Maya Aalsburg and I'm a senior at NMU studying graphic design. Although I normally ride shot-gun with my fiance Collin McGee, club President, in his Deadrango, this is my daily. She's a 2013 Chevy Sonic hatchback where the only mods are air fresheners and stickers.”

“Hey my name is Felicia Hokenstad & I work in the Finacial Aid Office at Northern. Was a grad student & dropped out (can't win'em all). I'm also usually a shot-gun rider with my husband, Hok, along with our pup Cash. When I'm on my own, you can catch me in this 2010 Subaru Forester with AWD and a roof rack to carry all my heavy sh*t.”

As always, we’re always looking for new members! A majority of our club will become alumni this Spring & we’re doing our best to keep the club alive. Meetings are weekly on Thursday @ 8pm in Jamrich Hall. We’d love to see you there! @ Marquette, Michigan

Another [member feature] post!

Hello - my name is Eric.. or you might also know me as Hok or even .. I am a senior at NMU in the Engineering Dept. I bought my YJ in South Carolina ten years ago, drove it to New York, across to Seattle, where it got an 8.8 axle swap, fenders, set of lockers, and mud tires. Since moving to the U.P. and enrolling at NMU, I finally got to do serious off roading and haven't quit upgrading it yet. Over the past four years 35s went under it, cage was added to, 1" body/motor lift, regeared to 4.88s, rear bumper, and chromoly shafts. Club members helped me swap every major component from the motor to regearing the axles. This winter the jeep is getting full width Ford axles, grizlly lockers, new gears, heavy duty steering, and new seats. I can't wait to do recoveries this spring!

If you’d like to learn more about the club and help plan our spring opener run, come join us at 8:00 in Jamrich Hall. Message the club with questions!
