We have to thank the volunteers and sweep crew on stage 6 that helped us out when we slid off stage into a stump. Also, and Mike Bunker for helping fix the car overnight. Without them, we wouldn’t have had a day 2.

But this weekend was all about remembering and honoring Al. We keep coming to rallies for the awesome community and Al was a prime example of that. He was the life of the rally party. It didn’t matter if it was your first event, or you’ve been rallying for years. He treated everyone like family. Press on Al 🍻

With some last minute plan changes we thought we would have to miss most of recce to tech our car. But thanks to who got us in touch with Nate Winkler, Nate saved the day and brought our car in to tech for us! Big thanks Nate!
We were able to write notes for most of the stages, so tomorrow we will find out if they actually work.

Really surprised this thing survived 2 days of rallycrossing with no real issues. It was basically one big Subaru recycling project consisting of a friend’s spare shell, 3 friends’ WRX parts cars, a crashed rally car, some parts from my spares bin, and a fb marketplace motor. I only had 20 street miles of testing before bringing it out here.
It is a ton of fun to drive, just needs some real brake pads and a rear L*D. It took a couple laps to get used to driving without a steering quickener again, but busy wheel work was more fun.

Well, we made it to the end of 2022! Unfortunately on stage 1 we got stuck on the inside of a corner and couldn’t get the car to go into gear. We wasted a few minutes on stage playing with the shifter and finally got it to start working again. Everything seemed fine and we were making up some time, but on the final 19 mile stage we lost gears again. This time we really had to beat the hell out of the shifter and somehow found 4th. Luckily we were able to finish stage 8 and make to the end.

Not exactly the result we wanted, but between the mechanical drama and some off track excursions, we were more than happy to just survive until the end.

Back in the UP for CUPR 2022! Excited to hit the stages tomorrow for the first time with the H6 swap.Thanks to Joe Ter...

Back in the UP for CUPR 2022! Excited to hit the stages tomorrow for the first time with the H6 swap.
Thanks to Joe Terrien for subbing in on short notice for Taylor as he unfortunately won’t be able to make this event. This will be Joe’s first rally but we expect to see a Terrien family rally car on stages in the near future 😜.
