Every journey starts with a single step â and for Anna, that step led to a transformation she never imagined. What began as a challenge to herself has grown into a lifestyle filled with strength, confidence, and community. Annaâs story is a reminder that when you show up with consistency and heart, the results can change more than just your fitness â they can change your life.
Here's what Anna has to say about her incredible transformation journey!
âIf weâre being honest, I joined FBBC out of pride. Sure, there were âother reasons,â like âgetting healthyâ and âfeeling better,â but the bottom line is it was pride.
We had family coming up for Thanksgiving, and we were going to run a âfamily 5k.â I COULD have walked it, but the thought of walking as my brother and sister-in-law, and all our kids ran was embarrassing. I started a âcouch to 5kâ program on my own and it went horrifically badly. I was so out of shape, I had motivation but no accountability, and it all felt terrible and awful and bad.
I had been meaning to try out FBBC with Bree, so I did and I was hooked. I committed to 5 days a week for the 3 weeks I had prior to the 5k... figuring that 30 min of exercise a day (even if it wasnât running) would make a difference. What I didnât realize is HOW much of a difference it made! I could hardly jog for 30 seconds to a minute before starting FBBC and 3 weeks later I jogged that 5k!!! It was not fast, but I didnât need to take a break to walk. No records were set, but I did it! And that was such a major motivation to keep going. Seeing what 3 weeks of consistency could do was unbelievable.â
Those three weeks sparked a massive shift.
âItâs a clichĂ©âbut it turns out many exercise clichĂ©s are rooted in truthâI feel SO GOOD. I didnât realize how BAD I felt before, but I feel freaking PHENOMENAL now. I can do things that I love to do without getting tired (horse riding, hiking, playing with the kids). Things feel easier. My muscles feel stronger, and Iâm more aware of them in a good and interesting wayânot just from being soreâbut able to really think about how I use them for everything I do, and not take them for granted.â
And the environment has played a huge role.
âI love the camaraderie. I love seeing people I know. I love the community feel. Itâs the VIBE, really.â
That vibe fuels the motivation.
âSeeing and feeling the changes in myself, physically and mentally.â
She even has a go-to when it comes to workouts.
âAnything quads. All day, every day!â
But like any fitness journey, it hasnât all been easy.
âStarting... but once that was over, the hardest part was several months in. The newness and excitement carried me for a while, but that did wear off and I had to work hard to keep up the consistency... and it was absolutely worth it!â
Her lessons along the way have shaped her advice to others.
âDonât try to do everything all at once. Failure is demoralizing. Pick a reasonable goal. For example, I chose to go to the gym right after the kids were dropped off at school. I was already in my car, and I used that momentum to propel me to FBBC. I committed to 5 days a week; no excuses other than appointments I couldnât reschedule, illness, and snow days. Also, donât be discouraged thinking âitâll take me MONTHS to see results.â It might, it might not. But those months and years are going to go by no matter what you are and are not doing, so you might as well be making small changes that add up to big differences.â
It all comes down to balance and priorities.
âI prioritize myself. If Iâm not mentally and physically OK, I canât do the other things, so I need to make sure that I take care of myself. Itâs not selfish, itâs pragmatic. I also think âhey Anna, how many times do you spend time scrolling on social media... you can find time to go to the gym!â And then I also have the ability to plan to do the gym at a consistent time every day, which really helps overall.â
And when it comes to fun facts, sheâll admit this one was tough to answer.
âThis is the hardest question of all of these! I love learning and reflecting... I am always trying to learn more (about anything!) and have a better understanding of myself and the world around me.â
Looking forward, her goals have evolved in a powerful way.
âI want to be strong. Iâm close to getting my âweightâ goal, but that doesnât matter to me anymore, actually. I want some badass muscles! Right now working on better protein intake with the help of Tori, and then figure out the next step.â
Well said Anna! With your mindset you WILL have all the badass muscles that you want!
Give it up for Anna for all her accomplishments and the many more to come! Great job your Coaches are proud of you! đđđ
