What a perfect end to the season: Summer Cyclone Tournament Champions!
Many of these girls started playing together in 8U and this was the perfect way to end the season! Knowing some will need to move on to 12U and some will not, next season is sure to look a bit different. We are so grateful for our coaches: Coach Ali, Coach Jess, Coach Britt, Coach Scott, and Coach Mat ❤️🖤 Thank you for a wonderful year of softball. Seeing their start in Liberty League in the fall and then their finish was truly night and day, and all thanks to your guidance and coaching.
The team went 5-0 on the weekend, only giving up 10 hits and clocking 42 total strike outs. Ella Ruiz had 17 K’s and Lily Miller racked up 25 K’s. Offensively, the team had an impressive 44 hits with Penny Nichols (8), Kamrynn Hillman (7), Davin McCloskey (5), and Shea Gaskill (5) accounting for 25 of the hits. Only 2 errors in the entire weekend made for an exciting defensive showing from each one of our players. The best part, though, was watching this group of girls cheer on and support one another through it all. Memories were made and fun was certainly had throughout the entire weekend.

🚨 WALK-OFF WIN ALERT!

What a comeback by Thunder 10U Feeney! ⚡🥎

After falling behind 4-0 early and trailing 8-7 heading into the bottom of the 5th, these girls showed incredible heart and determination to battle back for a thrilling 9-8 walk-off victory over Mount Laurel Storm Navy!

Game Highlights:
Layla S delivered the game-winning moment with a 2-run inside-the-park home run to complete a comeback!

Jordyn C and Emily B each drove in a run during the decisive fifth inning rally. Carter H was outstanding in relief, striking out 7 batters over 4 innings to keep Thunder within striking distance. The Thunder offense was aggressive on the bases, swiping an incredible 16 stolen bases!. Offensive leaders: Layla S – 2 hits, 2 RBIs, game-winning inside-the-park homer
Cheyenne E – 2 hits, 2 RBIs Alexis D – 2 hits Emery G, Olivia O, and Cheyenne E all contributed multiple stolen bases.

A huge team effort from every player as Thunder never quit and found a way to get it done when it mattered most!

Miller 10U headed out to Egg Harbor township for their most challenging tournament entry yet. The girls battled through the heat going 2-1 on Saturday with some stellar pitching by Vianna Jacob, Ella Ruiz, and Lily Miller. The team had a total of 21 hits on the weekend and some excellent defensive plays to keep them in the hunt until the very end. Let’s go Thunder!!❤️🖤🥎

Congratulations to Coach Boody's Marlton Thunder Red 14U Team for winning the USA Softball NJ State Championship this past weekend!!!!

After finishing in second place in their last few tournaments, this team was hungry for a Championship win! On Saturday, these girls came out swinging and flashing some serious leather! The team went undefeated on Saturday allowing only 5 runs all day. This earned themselves the #1 seed (and the ability to sleep in lol) going into bracket play on Sunday.

On Sunday, the team faced three really strong teams and had to dig deep to win this tournament. During these three games, the girls went down multiple times and battled back each and every time. They gave 110% and left everything out there on that field. Every single player played a crucial role in winning these games - it was a true team effort!

While the bats were hot and the small ball game was firing on all cylinders, it was the defense that won these games. Collectively, it was the best defensive games of the season for the Thunder!

The outfield (Katie McNamara, Makenna Demarsey and a platoon of Lina Lawson, Natalie Freni, Olivia Whritenour and Haley Toland) were absolutely on fire! This group of girls has grown into a top tier outfield making multiple athletic catches and throwing multiple runners out.
The infield was a brick wall letting nothing by them. This group consists of Lila Ruiz, Julianna Shaw, Camryn Edwards, Olivia Whritenour and Mackenzie Boody. This infield has been intimidating opposing teams all season with their superior play!
The pitchers (Mackenzie Boody, Natalie Freni and Lina Lawson) have been nothing short of amazing! Their pitch placement, change of pace, spin and consistency has been a source of frustration for the opposing team's batters!
The two catchers (Haley Toland and Zoey Landolf) called really smart games this weekend. They gunned out multiple opponents who tried to steal on them. These are two very strong and hardworking young ladies
Shout out to Eva Escobedo who has been recovering from an injury but still contributed to the win by serving as the teams EP/EH. She came up clutch several times with an uncanny ability to get on base, aggressive base running and scored the game tying run in the championship!

This team continues to impress! We are so proud of them and can't wait to see what the rest of the season will bring.

*Milestone Alert*
Our very own Mackenzie Boody reached a very impressive milestone of 300 strikeouts (in the past two and a half years). It's great to see all of her hard work paying off! The coaches are all very proud of this young lady!

💙⚾️Wear blue for Xavier on Wednesday June 3rd ⚾️💙

Softball and baseball are more than a game. It’s a family.

On Wednesday, June 3rd, we are asking everyone to wear blue in support of Xavier and his family. While we may wear different uniforms, play on different teams, and compete on different fields, moments like these remind us we are all on the same team.

The softball and baseball communities are strongest when coming together to support each other through life’s challenges.

Let’s fill our schools, workplaces, fields, and communities with blue and show Xavier that he has an entire team standing behind him.
