Where did the season go??? Time sure does fly when you're winning.
As I write this, we sit at 33-9 on the season—the first time we've ever eclipsed the 30-win mark. Congratulations to all of our players, coaches, and families. That's quite a feat!
And congratulations again to Schuyler and Sammy for surpassing the 100-strikeout mark this season.
This past weekend was especially memorable as we hosted our annual Thunderstruck Tournament. In a span of roughly 45 hours, the girls battled through 7 games. We started the weekend with 10 players and finished with just 9, making an already demanding schedule even more challenging.
Sammy and Gracie each shouldered a tremendous workload, pitching three games a piece. We also had to patch together innings using Millie, Lex, and Lena. That's a tough spot to put those three in, as they haven't been part of our normal pitching rotation, but they stepped up when the team needed them.
Over those seven games, the girls scored an incredible 70 runs while allowing just 37. On Sunday alone, we outscored our opponents 39-5, showcasing the depth, resilience, and determination this team has developed throughout the season. Good things happen when you swing the bat!!
The formula all weekend was pretty simple: great pitching, timely hitting, and minimizing mistakes. And honestly, there is no better team on the bases than this one. Whether it's taking the extra base, putting pressure on defenses, reading situations, or simply playing aggressive, smart softball, this group consistently creates opportunities that change games.
To top it all off, the girls brought home the championship, making it the perfect way to cap off Father's Day weekend. Watching this team battle through adversity, support one another, and finish on top is something all of the dads, families, coaches, and players can be proud of.
